Response to Tyler Cook's Commit

I'm interested to see if Cook has any influence on his AAU buddies.
These are all teenagers who like to hang out with their friends. It's not a big stretch to think that could have an affect on where his AAU teammates might be looking.
Does he play with a top 100 PG?

Cook's friend Tilmon would be a really big get if the Hawks can land him. As a soph, he already was a man amongst boys in the St. Louis area.Tilmon could end up being another Okafor.

No, but he does play with a 2017 5 star Center.

Doesn't Cook play with Goodwin (2017 combo guard) or Ramey (2018 PG)? I know we've offered both of them.

He plays with Goodwin. Not sure about Ramey. That team was loaded with Tatum (2016 Duke), Tyler (2016 Iowa), Tilmon (2017 #19 5 star Center) , and Goodwin (2017 SG #94)

I thought Goodwin was more of a shooting guard.

Thanks for the info. I read somewhere that Goodwin was more of a combo guard playing next to a PG on his team. That seemed likely to me as we know Fran likes his players to be versatile. Think he would fit well with Connor in the backcourt.

On the other hand, Ramey is another quick PG of the type Fran's been after for years. His most recent vid is good though old, but his current profile says 6'0"/170 which indicates some growth and could explain Fran's recent offer.

We have a point guard with a national ranking of between 101-119 in the 2016 class. Until he plays otherwise we should expect young Bohannon to play like that level of recruit.

+1 I haven't seen Bohannon play, but he led his team to a championship this summer, suggesting he is a leader on the court. He also seems to be both a good ball handler and shooter. If he had gone to UNI, I suspect he would have been a player that some Hawk fans complained about not taking for four years. I am glad he is a Hawk, and Fran must be too.

Clone fans and their little bro syndrome is hilarious.
I think we also have some Hawkeye fans who have developed a serious case of little bro syndrome, as threads constantly go off track. Time for the team to start showing that Iowa basketball is back by beating the clones on the court.

There you go again, right into seizure mode. 100, if you post it enough times trying to convince yourself, do you believe it will convince others? My guess is you just get labeled the board look.

Clone fans always post on big bros board. We want more. We want more. We want more and clone fans will give it to us because their little bro syndrome won't allow otherwise.

Our defensive guard play hasn't been terrible. One of those guards was 1st team ABT. But I agree we are probably upgrading the guard talent. It looks like Jordan B is probably going to start on day one, in part simply because there aren't any other point guards. He may not be great but I'll bet a freshman year like Gessell's, maybe a better shooter and I'd bet the house a far better free throw shooter. A lot more experience and talent, if not size, to help offset some defensive break downs by Bohannon than had Mike G at the same point in his career.

You have to feel pretty good about the scoring ability of a mature group of Fleming, Ellingson, Moss, Jok and Jones. The odds are in our favor that at least three of those guys turn into real scorers.

Not getting expectations out of line with reality but other than size we are seeing what should be the most talented teams since the talent Alford wasted with coaching that might be comparable to good Davis teams.

My money is on Williams to be a 3 year starter at PG.
