I haven't seen anything on Brett Reyna from South Dade, Fl in a while and most had him in the conversation at 157 at the beginning of the year. He hasn't competed in any of the opens, any ideas if he's injured or what the word on him is?

I'd love to see a chart of all Iowa wrestlers over Brands's tenure, with Scholarship Dollars Spent (X axis) vs. Career NCAA Points (Y).
I suspect one would come to the conclusion that 9.9 scholarships is ample if well managed.

9.9 scholarships is is really just joke. Just look at PS....So much given to top wrestlers they don't need to go on scholarships!!!

Exactly my point. Reyna and Ybarra probably don't even get their books paid for. Will Reyna and Ybarra ever score points at NCAAs? No. Can they still play a factor in the success of those that do? Absolutely.

Significant scholarship money at Iowa is hard to come by. A friend was a Fargo finalist in Jr freestyle. He got his books paid for.

Todd Tarpley. A guy that spent a few years wrestling for the Hawkeye Wrestling Club and earned the right to say what he says on this board. More than 99.9 percent of the rest of these clowns. He expects more out of the Iowa team than what we are seeing this year and definitely will see next year.

If you are close to the program then you can't be ok with this team or the direction we are headed. We need younger absolute studs for assistant coaches not 3 guys (Tom, Terry, Dan) that are smurfs 2 of which are in their mid 50's. , M* an average middleweight and Bob an average heavyweight. Look back at Gables assistants. They were the former studs that recently graduated. Multiple national champs. Our guys leave as soon as they can now. Why is that?
To be fair, Cody Sanderson and Casey Cunningham weren't exactly world beaters. Some people make good coaches, some don't.
Casey has been fantastic from jump street. Cody, meh…. Sign 2 or 3 top 10 p4pers every year and you look brilliant.
