Happy Veteran's Day

To those who celebrate. Today, I was at my Dad's retirement home where they do a luncheon for all the old vets and this old guy named Roger and his granddaughter sat down at the same table as us. In the course of conversation, he said he had another granddaughter who lived in Ames with her husband and 4 or 5 kids. Said the husband is a wrestling coach at Iowa State...maybe I heard of him? His name is Brent Metcalf.

Of course smart ass me was thinking, "Never heard of him but I do know a Metcalf who is big into skateboarding and is also an avid bow hunter. Think his name is Brett though."

I had pretty much resigned myself to our first loss “Welp can’t win them a….and yes you can!!!”
