RFK Jr has mental health medication on his sights

In a 2023 livestream on X with Elon Musk, he claimed that “tremendous circumstantial evidence” suggested that people taking antidepressants were more likely to commit school shootings. (Actually, most school shooters were not taking those drugs, evidence shows.)

This is how we get more school shootings.

Let's see how pulling these drugs from PTSD veterans would pay off.

Oh damn. @IAFB2021Champs is going to have a lot of thinking to attempt.
Seems pretty foolish to get rid of anti depressant medication. Although I have many other questions based on this.

Why are so many more kids today taking medication. Why are we not putting in the effort to see why this is happening and not debating if they should or shouldn’t be getting medication.
If we are truly talking about people that need medication to treat depression, they will most likely be on some sort of medication the rest of their life. At that point, why would anyone even discuss if it addicting or not? They are not taking it for the addiction, they are taking it to help themselves mentally. If fact, the couple of people that I know that take this sort of medication, hate taking it and are not addicted. They know they need to take it for their own health.
As far as vaccines, if you want to get into that. The only one that I don’t trust and don’t feel like it does much is the Covid vaccine. Seems like it has been a giant money maker for certain people and companies.
Hope I didn’t ruin your day by using my own thinking and not following a cult leader or agree with my clown posse.

You can't just ban antidepressants or even just make it more difficult to obtain without a plan of how your going to handle mental health without these drugs.

This entire administration just bans what they don't like with no forward thought of the problems they're creating or how to deal with them.

You can't just ban antidepressants, wipe your hands and say problem solved!

That's the fun part. They will just say things like "well back in my day we didn't have these problems" and tell you to rub some dirt on it.

Not saying it’s right, but they are basically doing the exact opposite of what the last regime did.
The last president just gave everyone everything without justification.
How do we meet in the middle is the true question.

i'm comfortable with 21+ adults making the call to take drugs that will be used for the rest of their lives but not convinced that kids/adoloscents/young-adults should walk out with a prescription after an appointment to discuss anxiety with a psychologist. few years ago, a colleague's daughter was reluctant to go to school and ended up (with parental permission) getting prescribed mental medication. now she's in high school, takes 4 different drugs (all mental) but has suicidal thoughts/conversations, occasionally goes off the rails physically. her parents are on tenterhooks 24/7 and regret taking the pills route but have no choice now coz they don't know what to do anymore. the docs just keep tweaking doses and swapping pills.

Kinda ties into where I asked the question of why are so many more kids today needing medication. Something’s causing these kids to have more issues today. Instead of figuring out the cause, pharmaceutical companies can make more money throwing drugs at it. Nothing like throwing a bandaid on a much bigger problem.
I wouldn’t say I want to make a person be 21 though before they can get medicine but the parents need to be fully involved. That’s hard to do though when a parent doesn’t have full access to a child’s MyChart after the age of 12.

What won't? Everyone, including ourselves, are hurting public education.
I’m in the middle of it and I keep waiting for someone to make a law with teeth that stops children from physically and verbally assaulting school staffs across the country. Kids aren’t afraid of anything.

I watched a video last night of a little girl trashing a Wal Mart and workers and customers just stood and watched. Then when she started throwing glass bottles, and a man tried to stop her, some dumbass lady intervened and defended the girl’s behavior. As a society we’ve gone bonkers. Kids run shit.

I'm right there with you. Every time I send a kid out for crazy behavior they are right back in. About 5 years ago a boy pinned a girl up against a bus and another start punching. Both 3 days suspension only (I guess the longest punishment they can give now??). One now in jail for assault...
