My sons college team played a weekend series just north of Atlanta (Emerson, GA) in 2015 and the field was under several inches of snow when we got there. No plows around that place (turf) so now way to move the snow. They had the guys go out and walk all over one of the four fields to "help it melt". Well, all that did was pack it down into ice and make that field useless for about 2 days.
The Iowa baseball team was a the same complex, as they had to relocate their weekend games (vs Cincinnati) from North Carolina due to snow.
Gotta love spring ball....
