Marco Rubio and His Wife Cited 17 Times for Traffic Infractions, screams the headline on the NYT hit piece. When you actually read the article, you learn that they went back to 1997 to dig up that many infractions. Later, you learn that during that entire period of time Rubio had 4 citatations and his wife had 13, but 2 of his and 7 of hers were dismissed. (Btw - if you look at the picture with the linked article - you can see why. With a nod to the Lounge, she looks fast.)

So, we have a speedy wife and somehow it's about him. Even worse is the preachy tone of the text. If I didn't know better, I'd think the article was in The Onion instead of the NYT.

Wonder what page this was on? Apparently the EPA ruling on fracking and drinking water from wells was buried on page 12.

I agree. Stuff like this is stupid. But the GOP better be careful what they wish for. If you take away personal attacks, the Republicans will actually have to come up with ideas instead of their witchhunt against Hillary.

Those "Witch Hunts" as your side likes to call them, are not personal attacks. It's funny how each side turns away when something potentially disturbing is unearthed about their candidate of choice. Nothing to see here, move along.

Is it a witch hunt to ask why she needed her own private email server?

Poor poor Hillary, she's such a victim. It must be a vast right-wing conspiracy again.

Please. The email "scandal" is just like Benghazi. It's politically motivated. How do we know this is true? Because every last Secretary of State before Hillary used private emails and most of the GOP candidates used them as well. But you don't see the GOP going after any of this do you?

Didn't you see the news today? China just hacked the official servers. Thank god Hillary saw this coming and took steps to safeguard us all. :D

The sad thing is, you are joking but I fully expect team Hillary and the media who worships her to actually BELIEVE that excuse.

How many had their own servers? Please answer this, then tell me why it was needed.

Like I said, if you want to make this election about the issues, I'm sure the Dems would take that deal in a heartbeat. But something tells me that you or the rest of the GOP wouldn't want to agree to this.

Yes, let's make it about foreign policy, illegal immigration, Obamacare and the economy.

Obviously the Dems and their partners in the media want it about speeding tickets.

Comparing Benghazi where American died to a cheap hip piece about speeding tickets. Yeah, those are exactly the same. I know exactly where you get that attitude.

I invite you to ask Jeb Bush this question since he had his own server as well. I also invite you to grill Marco Rubio, Scott Walker, Chris Christie, Rick Perry, and Bobby Jindal over why they chose to use private emails, too. But something tells me that you won't.

Maybe she knew enough about NSA overreach to take precautions?

I've never defended her on that one. But in her shoes, knowing about the NSA and hackers and such, I might have been tempted, too. Wouldn't you? Be honest.
He's not interested in being honest. He's only interested in playing games.

By all means, let's ask Jeb why he had his own server. And what is the policy on that in the State of Florida? Does the Governor usually get one? Does the current governor get one? I really don't know, but would be happy to read anything you can link on it. Has any other Secretary of State had a private server?

And if you don't know the difference between a private email and a private server we don't need to continue this conversation. Still won't answer about Hillary huh?

I haven't seen any lefty here condoning this trivial criticism of Rubio.

If you want it to be about real issues, I'm COMPLETELY on board. But why did you only list those. What about climate change, education, science, Social Security, income inequality, and so on.

You know what's orders of magnitudes worse than a puff piece on Rubio's tickets? Serious climate change denial. Which you see every day on FOX.

Ticketgate is ludicrous. But at least it seems to be based in truth. What your excuse for the climate denier nonsense?

Please read my above post. If you don't throw the Republicans under the bus for doing the same exact thing, you're a hypocrite.
I may not have all the facts right on this, but wasn't Hillary's private server either against the law or policy? Is the same true of the others? I believe Powell did the same thing as Hillary, but when he did it there was no law. The law came about later making Hill's offence different.

Let's be honest with ourselves here. This isn't about private accounts or private servers. It's about the right trying make this election about Hillary instead of dealing with the real problems of this country. Simply put, the Republicans have no ideas on how to fix our problems. Half the time they pretend that they problems don't even exist. From the wealth gap, to healthcare, to Climate Change, the GOP tries sweeping them all under the carpet. The Republicans don't care about the middle class. They don't care about education. They don't care about jobs or the environment. All they care about is lining the rich's pockets just a little bit more. It's not enough that the rich own most of the country, now the Republicans want them to own our democracy, too.

If you want to discuss the issues, let's discuss the issues. But to make your platform all about personal Hillary attacks, and then complain that personal attacks against Rubio is out-of-bounds, is beyond childish.

I was just trying to point out the better things about Hillary with the serious warts and cankles, not her negatives.

Really:

Interesting that you chose to respond to Huey but not to answer the question I asked you. That sort of makes Huey's point, don't you think?
He's picking and choosing what he wants to talk about. And he'll move the goalpost whenever he feels he starting to get boxed in. You can tell that he's searching hard for that one exact complaint that makes Hillary's personal problems different from what the personal problems the Republican candidates have.

Yep, just like all the faux outrage over all the other manufactured "scandals." Just throwing things at the wall and hoping one will stick. Sadly it's a tactic that seems to work for the wingnut echo chamber. The true scandal is the way that the congressional Republicans took a legitimate inquiry into the events in Benghazi to determine what happened and how to better avoid future similar situations and turned it into a witch hunt for purely political reasons. That is where the true shame lies.

And don't get me wrong. If I was a GOP strategist, I would be doing the same exact thing. The GOP is the party of the past. The still reject gay rights, immigration reform, Climate Change, the wealth gap, healthcare, and the idea that we actually need to spend money on things like our infrastructure. So they don't have the luxury of running on the issues. All they're left with is personal attacks against Hillary. But the GOP better be wary that the election doesn't turn into the issues, because they will lose. They had better hope the Hillary trainwreck keeps on getting derailed, because they certainly haven't offered up very many solutions to our real problems.
