RIP Bill Walton

Walton was one weird dude. But I remember watching him in the bruins' ncaa finals in 73

I remember that too. I consider it one of the single greatest performances in college sports I've ever seen. 21-22 from the floor - and had accumulated 3 fouls in the 1st half too.

In my lifetime, probably the best college basketball player I've ever seen. Now, Lew Alcindor and Pete Maravich were better, but their college careers were juuuuuuuuust a tad bit before my time.

**** cancer!
Well dang. The dude was “all in” all the time. He was a very skilled player and a positive proponent for the game.
I always remember three quick fouls being called on FSU’s big guy, Lawrence McCray, in our only title game. It altered the game in just the first minutes.
The Noles lost by five, which was the closest margin of any title match during the Bruin’s dominant run.

RIP in peace, Big Red.

RIP to a legend. His battles with Kareem are fun to watch!

My very close friend, fellow Bruin and NBA rival Bill Walton died today. And the world feels so much heavier now. On the court, Bill was a fierce player, but off the court he wasn't happy unless he did everything he could to make everyone around him happy. He was the best of us.

Going home, going home
By the waterside I will rest my bones
Listen to the river sing sweet songs
To rock my soul
Going to plant a weeping willow
On the banks green edge it will grow, grow, grow
Sing a lullaby beside the water
Lovers come and go, the river roll, roll, roll
Fare you well, fare you well
I love you more than words can tell
Listen to the river sing sweet songs
To rock my soul

Great post. I've lost many friends this year, almost 2 a month.
