RIP in Peace Wayne Kramer

While it has a few notable omissions, the very good docuseries “Punk” from MGM+/Amazon Prime, traces the origin of punk to the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago, when The MC5 were the only ones to take up the offer to play, and they certainly set a different mood than peace and love.

BTW, this means Sid Vicious and Wayne Kramer both died on Groundhog Day.

Wayne and Johnny Thunders had a band together called Gangwar for a short time. They did a killer version of ‘The Harder they Come’. Lol at Thunders stage rap- nobody funnier!

Interestingly, Sid was nearly 10 years younger than Kramer, but died 46 years ago. And it's not like Kramer lived a clean, sober existence in those days. Goes to that comment I made in the Fullerton thread about how young all the guys former punk, and proto punk, bands were. Even Kramer was a teenager when MC5 formed.
