Val Kilmer, 'Top Gun' and Batman star with an intense approach, dies at 65
Kilmer, the youngest actor ever accepted to the prestigious Juilliard School at the time he attended, experienced the ups and downs of fame more dramatically than most.

Agree. He stole every scene. His performance was a masterpiece and what people remember of the movie.Should have been nominated for Tombstone.

RALPH FIENNES

JOHN MALKOVICH
In the Line of Fire
PETE POSTLETHWAITE
In the Name of the Father
Good question. You have to keep Jones, Fiennes, and Postlethwaite - great actors, great movies.
So it’s DeCaprio or John. In the Line of Fire is the weakest film.
I cut Malkovich (who is fantastic as always).
That's probably the choice I'd make as well, but I'm not sure I would put Kilmer above Malkovich if I saw both performances without any outside influence.
Incredible year for film.
Wait... He was in Back to the Future? Was telling Mrs no pics Vickers this morning how underappreciated his role as Doc Holiday was... to which she replied, "wait, he was in Back to the Future?"...
She's never been much for remembering celebrities or movie details but that one was too good not to share.
Agreed, it was handled almost flawlessly.Thought it was wonderful they brought him back for Top Gun 2. My favorite may be Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
Fiennes gave a great performance as Goeth. But imo Kingsley was even better as Stern.Really was. I just assumed that Fiennes had won when I went to look it up.
Which tells you how great Tommy Lee was that year.
Definitely my favorite role of his. One of my favorite lines was at the end when Doc is talking to Wyatt. Wyatt says he just wants a normal life. Doc says "there's no normal life Wyatt, there's just life". Absolute classic scene.I’m glad he’s not suffering to get through the day anymore - I just want to recall how epic he was in Tombstone. Absolutely owned that role.
RIP to a great actor.
The real tragedy of that year was NOT Tom Hanks winning Best Actor over Liam Neeson. It was Denzel not even being mentioned. He absolutely ruled "Philadelphia".Really was. I just assumed that Fiennes had won when I went to look it up.
