Fuck Ron Harper Jr.

Dude's a solid player and kept his mouth shut for the vast majority of the game. I wish EVERYONE (included 'our' guys) would tone down the various 3-goggles, and other 'celebrations' but he RHJ only did something after his first made 3 and he did back it up from there on. I got a kick out of Joe T saying something to the bench and then laughing.
RU is going to be a solid team for a good stretch--that was a very good win!

Our dudes seem to talk a lot of trash. I don't blame him. Plus he lost.

Plus, we all love Keith Duncan and he did the same thing to Deb.
Blow the kiss after you win something. Yes, our guys seem to chirp a lot but I wonder if it’s in response to others? My guess last night the Rutgers bench started it - both east coast guys, Joe and Luka, directed smack that way.

That could very well be true. Joe T is the leader of our trash talk for sure. Connor and Luka are close for second.

Harper looked good last night,.. But I can't help but think that if he got serious about getting into better physical condition that he could be real terror on the court, night after night,... Charles Barkley should not be viewed as a goal...

Harper is an outstanding player, makes it look easy. I also thought the foul on CJ was a bad call, but give Harper credit for selling it. I did think the foul on Garza was a good call, he wasn't set. Go Hawks ! Great win tonight !

I agree. Cj had his hands up and backing away. But Garza was sliding into position and was not set to take the charge.

I think Iowa fans need to realize that Iowa players are always some of the biggest trash talkers every game. Most other fan-bases have issues with Connor and Luka. Although, I think most of their issues with Luka is because of how good he is and how little he fouls. He does do a lot of flexing though.

I have no issues with it. Only time it sucks is when it comes back to bite them in the ass.

Luka needs to tone his act down a bit. Bicep flex is getting old and somewhat immature.

I don't necessarily disagree, but generally it seems it's more directed to the Iowa crowd to get them going moreso than the other team.

Ha. I even Said to my husband "well that was theatrical"

Garza fan or Harper fan, it was a great night of MBB.

And the RAC is already on the radar as one of the toughest places for teams to play. It's why we are currently 13-0 at the Trapezoid of Terror.
What is the seating capacity of the RAC?

RAC seats 8000, which has gone down in recent years. Used to be closer to 9000 when it opened in 1977 (and I think it was around 8300 when I was at RU in the late 90s), but they reconfigured some things over time (some for more premium seating that took up more room, and some for fire code issues I think). There's talk every year about what could be done to pack in another couple thousand, but it's only very recently that we've been consistently selling out to make such an expansion worthwhile.

Its architecture is fairly brutal, but it really gets loud at court level (some fans unofficially clocked the peak at a recent game at 113 decibels - which is like a chainsaw 3 feet away). The pitch of the stands is very steep, so the fans are almost right on top of the court - it doesn't slope gradually away from the court like most venues, and apparently building code has changed such that you can't build stands that steep anymore. My kids don't like climbing to the top - it's definitely not for people who don't like heights.

There's really nowhere for the sound to go, as the trapezoid shaped metal roof just reflects everything back onto the court.
