Yes. Lester a 76 graduate. Arnold graduated in 78. About 6 months apart in age.

Should be but I don’t think it is. I think it was 15.

Ronnie would have been in my class if he registered as a 5 year old unless he graduated early. Ronnie's birthday is 1/1/59 which puts him right in the middle of the class of 77. If he registered at four he must have been the smallest kid in his class, much younger than the other kids.

However Ronnie started his school years he left as a monster star and remains the best Iowa guard, if not player, I can clearly remember seeing, and that's going back to pre Lute.

I think later this season they are going to retire 420 in his honor

I loved watching Ronnie Lester. Just a great, great college basketball player. I think back to those days and it really dawns on me how stupid the NCAA was for letting the college game go so long without a shot clock. It may have been the dumbest thing ever. How do you let these athletes play 35 minutes, then have them play keep away for the last five minutes. Crazy.

Don't get me wrong...RL and Kenny Arnold were great running the slow down and taking the air out of the ball...then making their free throws when the fouls start. It just wasn't basketball...it was keep away, then a free throw shooting contest.
