Congrats on a great season. Enjoy the Rose Bowl...truly a special place.
Well, that takes a little bit of the sting away.
Herbstreit heaping on the praises during the selection. Totally won over ESPN analysts and the committee with the performance last night. Kirk said "If College GameDay is any indication Iowa will bring 60,000 to Pasadena." And that "They would bring 100,000 fans if Stanford got bored and they could actually do it"

I am shocked.....I never thought I'd see the day where Iowa was selected over Ohio State.

I took my son to the Rose Bowl last year, the playoff game between Oregon and FSU, because I wanted to share the Rose Bowl experience with my son, and because I finally gave up on KF ever taking the Hawkeyes there.

So Stanford gets to end the season like theirs began...with a loss to a Big Ten team
#5 Iowa vs #6 Stanford in the Rose Bowl is a great matchup.
Iowa deserves this trip to Pasadena. Thanks to the coaches
and the players for all the hard work during this magical season.
From a fan's perspective there is nothing greater than flying on
a charter jet out of Cedar Rapids to L.A. X. I attended the
1986 Rose Bowl game and enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow
Hawkeye fans.

This has made me a fan of the CFP committee. After so many years of the fate of teams being at the mercy of media-based polls, it's nice to have a group of people in charge that give careful consideration to their rankings. They may not always be perfect moving forward but they got it right this time.
The football gods have spoken, and spoken wisely (thank goodness)! Justice is served. Now Hawkeyes, go out and beat them stinkin' Cardinal ... please!

Congratulations to this team and coaches on being selected for the Rose Bowl. Finally they received the respect they earned and deserved which was not shown by the "experts" until after the bitter loss to MSU last night. I hated the outcome, but I cannot recall seeing a better college game than last night except the 1985 victory over Michigan on an end of game field goal.
sadly, they got more respect for losing like they did than they would've had they won. After stopping Michigan State after the Iowa TD, the "Connor Cook is having an off night" narrative was being built. Had Iowa won, we would've just heard that they won because Connor Cook had an off night and Iowa would be outclassed by whoever the opponent would've been in the playoff.
Congrats on the Rose Bowl. Not a bad "consolation prize." And hats off to the way the defense played yesterday, as well as to the season.
Awesome to finally be getting some respect from Herbstreit and others. This is a great opportunity for us. The biggest game on New Year's Day (although the fiesta bowl will draw a lot of tvs too). Also we get to play the actual PAC 12 champ rather than a runner up, and I think there is a chance we'll be playing against a heisman winner. Media will probably take the Bama guy though. Got my tickets at $200 more than what they were this morning but might be a once in a lifetime thing so whatever. Another thing to cross off on my bucket list.
It all worked out..... Who could've guessed it?
