Horrible call against MSU but on the brightside if MSU also gets beat by OSU and Iowa wins out the rest of the regular season one of two things will happen. 1 Iowa beats OSU and goes to the playoff or 2 Iowa losses but goes to the Rose. Either way I'm pumped and going.

What if MSU runs the table? Wouldn't they win the East? Then let's say we lose in the Big Ten championship game? Three teams with one loss... Would the Big get a team in the playoffs and if not would we fall to third in the pecking order? Praying the Hawks keep winning!

Buckeyes and Hawkeyes are the only B1G schools that have a shot at the CFP. If Iowa loses to an East team with 1 or more losses, that team won't make the CFP and will go to the Rose instead.

If you want a guaranteed Rose Bowl trip with a B1G championship loss, you'll have to root for the Buckeyes to finish undefeated.

"Michigan St won't beat Ohio St." Seriously how many people would have thought that Nebraska would have beat Mich St. We are in the playoff right now. Win each week and move on, all there is too it

Or 3) Michigan wins the east and beats Iowa, earning the Rose berth outright and relegating Iowa to the Fiesta or Peach (hopefully not against a Group of 5 team).

It's so nice to actually talk about us making the Rose Bowl. I firmly believe there is no better bowl game than the Rose Bowl, and if we miss out on the playoff that's a hell of a consolation prize.

Rose Bowl officials wouldn't be able to print enough tickets for all the Iowa fans traveling for that game. It's been what, 25 years?

I thought Nebraska would beat MSU. I do not think MSU will beat OSU, so long as JT Barrett is starting. I simply don't think MSU is that good; they've been lucky in a lot of games this year. I think they're a solid top 15 team, but not much better than that.

MSU: Undefeated by a lucky play, defeated by an unlucky play. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

If Iowa wins its remaining two home games, they claim h the West.
Pretty amazing to think that Iowa could clinch the West with games remaining. If Iowa beats Minny and Wisky loses to NW, Iowa wins West.
Some incredible options for Iowa. With the biggest being : just win all remaining games!!
Team needs to get ready and fired up at home to reclaim the Pig!

Sounds like what everyone else in the country is saying about Iowa.

I would put MSU and Iowa in the same general category. I don't think either has been performing at a top 10 level this season. Both are very good teams, but I don't see either beating Ohio State. I wouldn't be shocked if either beats OSU, because college football teams are inconsistent, but I do think OSU is in another class than Iowa/MSU.

If Iowa has not been performing at top ten level then why is it we are in every top ten?

If OSU makes the BIG championship game and Barrett is playing against either Iowa or Wisconsin, they will romp. If Barrett is not, anything is possible.

There's a difference in ranking how "good" you believe teams are and how "deserving" you believe teams are.

For example, if I were ranking Iowa versus Alabama, I think Iowa "deserves" to be ranked higher as they have not lost a game yet this season. At the same time, I believe Alabama is the better team (i.e., if they were to play next week on a neutral field, I would expect Alabama to win).

So when I say that I think that Iowa is only about the 15th "best" team in college football, that does not mean I don't think they should be ranked in the top 10 or in the top 4 if they happen to be 13-0.

Alabama wants no part of Iowa.

I have of course seen every Iowa game, and several MSU games. Iowa has looked the better team all season.

Ehhh... if CJ was 100% and Drew Ott was at least serviceable I think Iowa would have a puncher's chance.

Old Fart Miss beat them in Tuscaloosa. They are the best team in another year of weak SEC football. If they played in the B1G they'd have 2 or 3 losses by now.

Iowa will probably get all it wants from Nebraska in our
last regular conference game. If we go in at 11-0, then
we will have big MO on our side. And Beathard will not
let the Hawkeyes lose.

We are a top ten team. Forget the nonsense of we are ranked there but. talent wise we are more like 15. If anything we have been undervalued at this point. Too many people believing the hype machine behind other teams. Anybody see the Florida/Vandy game? Anybody not think MSU should have already lost? Can we loose? Sure but we deserve to be where we are at and we ARE at that level of talent/play.
