Rubio attacks Trump's 'small hands'

Marco Rubio was in full attack mode and on Sunday night and made it appear he was hitting Donald Trump below the belt by going after something that’s known to get under the billionaire’s skin: The size of his hands.

“Little Marco,” as Trump refers to the Florida senator, did a short bit about what he called Trump’s short digits during his rally in Roanoke, Virginia.



“I’ll admit that he’s taller than me,” Rubio said of the 6-foot-2-inch Trump. “Which is why I don’t understand why his hands are the size of someone who’s 5-2.

“Have you seen his hands?” he asked the crowd. “And you know what they say about men with small hands.”
His audience reacted with the amusement you’d expect before Rubio finished his thought.

“You can’t trust ‘em, you can’t trust ‘em,” he said of people with small hands. “You can’t trust ‘em. You can’t trust ‘em.”

Earlier in his stand-up bit, Rubio also went after him for constantly criticizing how much he sweats, which even had Trump sending him a case of water.

“It’s hot in here,” Rubio said. “Am I sweating now? He doesn’t sweat because his pores are clogged from the spray tan he uses.”

Rubio is trying to be like Trump. The problem is Trump is one of a kind for how he has been during the race and how his campaign has been. Rubio sounds more like an immature high school kid.

Rubio got some horrible advice from someone when he decided to get personal. He did well at the debate going after Trump's hiring history, manufacturing clothes outside of the U.S., and business history. Those are all fair game and raise appropriate issues. He was also right when he asked for specific policies on debt, healthcare, etc. He nailed it there.

But getting personal makes him look petty and immature and it's going to cost him.

If you watched the Jon Oliver bit you'd know where Rubio got the idea to tease him about his hands. Apparently he still sends pictures of his hands to a guy 25 years after he wrote a piece in Spy magazine mocking him for small hands. Guy has the thinnest skin on the planet.

It appears that Rubio is trying to get under Trump's skin and make him even more volatile than he has been, in an attempt to get people to turn on him. Probably won't work but being civilized hasn't either and this tactic is probably worth the risk to stop Trump.
