First Off, posting this was not a dig on Jake. I just found the article very interesting and through 5 games, they have Rudock down to a tee in Michigan. He has helped manage the Wolverines to a 4-1 start. His style of play is exactly what Michigan needs. Unfortunately, it didn't work for the Hawks. The real test will be against OSU and MSU for them. Crazy to think there is actually a chance for a possible B1G Championship game. Getting ahead of myself here. Anyway, here are some quotes from the article:

"There is nothing flashy about Michigan quarterback Jake Rudock."

"He will not amaze you with statistics."

"He does not make throws that end up on “SportsCenter,” not unless you count the ones where the ESPN show dissected his three interceptions against Utah."

"And he does not have a big, strong cannon for an arm."

"Playing on a team with this kind of defense, Rudock doesn’t have to win games with his arm."

Jeff Seidel must have been an active Hawkeye Report user last year. All kidding aside, seems to be working out for them. With a solid defense like that, he can focus on what he does best.

Me and his center have something in common. We both call JR a game manager.

Harbaugh has not made him better. Jake has not been throwing down the field, what happens when teams stuff the run and challenge him to beat them?

A lot of his passes have been screens. I think he will be exposed against Northwestern this week. Certainly by MSU and OSU.

We certainly have the QB with more upside.

Obviously GD can develop QBs better than Jim Harbaugh.
Harbaugh has no one else to manage the position like Jake can now. He has no time to develop a one-year guy, he just needs to establish his system and have a winning record this year

I would expect NW to go to Mich & beat Jake Saturday. Ii would help Iowa more if Mich wins @ home but I just don't see it happening. To big of a game for Rudock to win.

I would not be too sure about Northwestern beating Michigan. Their one loss to Utah was not bad as Utah is a pretty salty team and are in the Top 10 in the Polls. It was also in the first game of the year and though Rudock is a 5th year senior first games are more often shakedown cruises then polished games. Michigan is also more than a TD favorite over NW. By the way Michigan seems to be doing well in recruiting this year.

Not sure if I would have put it the way you have. I'd expect NW to stack the box and make Jake try to beat them.

I put my money on Michigan. NW has a redshirt freshman Clayton Thorson at QB who hasn't exactly been setting the world on fire. I think they will struggle to run the ball against Michigan. If NW is going to win, Thorson will have to step up. Just my opinion for what it's worth.

It's interesting to me that Jake is the same at Michigan vs. Harbaugh making him better.

When did Jake even show up at Michigan? June?

I've been watching Michigan this year and everything they are doing offense is as vanilla as it gets. I wonder if he doesn't do some different things when Sparty is the opponent. I think he knows he can win every game with defense right now. Could be wrong but the first few weeks the timing was off and WRs were running the wrong way (harbaughs words).
