Iowa quarterbacks: [/B]Junior Jake Rudock did the same recently. Both remain in Iowa City, ready to resume the battle that ended in a bowl defeat against Tennessee with Beathard in charge of the offense. Soon after, the Hawkeyes placed him atop the depth chart. But any edge over Rudock, a 25-game starter over the past two seasons, is small and could disappear quickly this spring.

I hate to interupt all the intelligent conversations in this thread, but the 'word on the street' is that JR will be going to Mich. for grad school, but he will defer it for a year and play football at Boise St. It is still being reported that he is working out with the outgoing seniors, so.......................

I have always been in the "I don't give a shit who starts as long as we win" camp but I love how the people who bashed Rudock and KF last year for not having a brain by playing Rudock are now creating pre-made excuses.

They have essentially set up a scenario where they cannot be wrong and KF cannot be right. It's awesome!

If CJ does good then imagine how good he would have been if it wasn't for KF playing Jake last year.

If CJ does great then he obviously should have been starting since he was a HS junior but KF wouldn't know talent if it bit him.

If CJ does poorly then it's on KF for not letting him play his game and bottle necking all that talent.

You guys are a riot. It's why I keep coming back.

If CJ doesn't develop like Vandenburg didn't develop and Ruduck didn't develop I'm in the KF/GDGD have no idea how to run an offense camp.

Or it could mean that our coaches do not know how to evaluate and play the best QB, since he was moved to #1 after the bowl game. Or if you believe neither JR or CJB are very good, it could be that our coaches do not know how to bring talented QBs to the program. Take your pick.

I think regardless of how CJ does, it will be KF's fault. 25 years from now if the Hawks go 2-10 it will be because of what KF did as head coach of Iowa. He ruined the program forever and it will never turn around.
