Great weekend of weather ahead in Iowa City. Get out and support the baseball team if you can. We have 6pm start Friday, 2pm Saturday, and noon on Sunday. The Sunday game is on BTN. Rotation is still McDonald, Baumann, and Judkins. Rutgers starters ERA look ok, but their team ERA is over 5. Tells me their relief may struggle. They also hit a conference worse .227 as a team. They have been a pain in Iowa’s side since joining the conference. We are 2-4 against them since then. With Purdue and Nebraska coming up you have to get to 5-4 in the conference....of course we want 6-3.

Absolutely. Heller’s newsletter mentioned the worry of losing Sunday. I’m staying home to watch the game and hope it’s played.

At least it's not Illinois State....

Umm ... using RPI as a measure, Illinois State is a top 50 team right now; probably top 40. They took 1 of 3 games against Vanderbilt (#3 RPI). Ranked higher than Indiana at this point.

A mid-week loss to ISU won’t look “bad” on a resume.

IMO, Iowa desperately needs a sweep this weekend.

Smart move yes, but no BTN tomorrow sucks as I think we are only scheduled on regular BTN twice unless we make the tournament. I’ve been really disappointed in their baseball coverage as a whole. Really a chance to elevate the league.

Last night was a prime example...their expert was talking about how it’s Minnesota, Illinois and everybody else. Ugh, Illinois is 0-4 in the league. Also talked about Iowa getting swept by Minnesota to start the year.

Iowa gets the series. Offense did some damage. Had some relief issues which we've come to expect. Second game starts at 5:35. Go Hawks!

With no game tomorrow, Iowa should have practice. They should be ashamed of their defense in game two. I get it that doubleheaders are tough, but our pitchers are getting zero help. Sweeps are tough too. I will take 2/3 every weekend, but big difference in 6-3 and 5-4 plus this will kill Iowa's RPI because it just doesn't like us this year.

Rutgers wins the second game 15-3. Really a sour ending to a 2-1 weekend. Iowa didn’t do a lot right in game two today. Errors,walks, can’t hit Rutgers worse starting arm. Just a bad game. It happens and really need a bounce back @Purdue.

Hell of a job to Iowa fans. The crowd of 1,701 is excellent. Hope Nebraska in two weeks is good weather too and another great crowd.
