Supporting them doesn’t mean they can’t be criticized, too. Iowa sucked last night and gave away a game to a vastly inferior team.

Thank you, it is hard to come to this site after a loss. You have posters that no one has heard of spouting off every single time.lol
“Vastly inferior...”. By what measure? Minnesota is 8-1 and currently ranked 42 in Kenpom. That’s NCAA tourney level.
Iowa’s D efficiency rating compared to Minnesota’s — Iowa 96th; Minnesota 59.
Until we can guard .... well .... anybody ...GTFOOH with the “vastly inferior“ crap. It makes you sound like a douche and has no connection with reality.
There’s not a single team in the B1G that is “vastly inferior” to any other team in the B1G. Wisconsin is the only team who can even make a case for being significantly better than any of the rest, and guess what? They’ll lose some games too.
Some of you guys are out of control. Jeez...
I think it's becoming apparent that if Iowa doesn't make threes they will lose, or be in a close game and lose because of the D.I get what he’s saying, but man, it’s not like Iowa’s throwing a bunch of freshman and transfers out there. This is an extremely experienced group. Hate to say it, but this will happen again. Defense isn’t just something you turn on. Either you’re prepared, well schooled defensively or you’re not. Iowa clearly is not and never has been under Fran. Need to rely on scorching the nets offensively and that’s how this team has to win.
What he did is no different than what you are doing now. He used social media. Big f'n deal. He said something about his brother and you have a problem with that? Ya the Hawkeyes lost. I'm sick to death of people acting like turds because a team lost a game. Grow up!really why do people like jbo strive for attention. IOh my brother couldn't attend a game who cares. were in a pandemic Maybre you should move your feet as fast as you are to get on twitter?

He should change his statement to "this team COULD be special."
I expected this team to not be complacent against an inferior opponent. They need to take every team seriously. Last night that didn’t happen.lol

If you really expected Iowa to walk in and dominate every non-glamour team in the B1G, you either just started watching this stuff or you’re delusional. Some of you guys are out of control. Jeez...
And here was Zach's response
i guess in sports i expect weird shit to happenSupporting them doesn’t mean they can’t be criticized, too. Iowa sucked last night and gave away a game to a vastly inferior team.
I still don't know how they lost that game.
Gotta make free throws. Not sure whats up with that but even our REALLY good free throw shooters are missing free throws the last few games. I expect Joe W. CJ, and Jbo to all shoot in that 84 to 90% range and thats not happening lately. Luka started the year looking much better then last season, and now he's back looking like a 65% free throw shooter again. I think he gets mentally and physically tired. In the games he was playing 25 minutes he was doing much better. We should have won that game by at least 8-10 points just by shooting better from the line, even as bad as the defense was, (God we're horrible on the switch where Luka ends up at the free throw line and JBo ends up guarding the post player!).i guess in sports i expect weird shit to happen
look at the New York Jets; they finally won a game and nobody saw that happening
And I get it; Iowa had a 7 point lead with 44 seconds to go, despite shooting like crap all game long; I still don't know how they lost that game.
UNI wondered how they lost that NCAA tournament game a few years ago. A strange combination of events occurred. If Iowa does just 1 thing, they win in regulation and all the critics are happy.i guess in sports i expect weird shit to happen

so what, why is this a problem? For the record I think it is stupid family couldn't goI kinda think the weirdness of the tweet is the timing of it. 2 hours after your team loses a game they were supposed to win, you are talking about a streak that was broken regarding your brother not "attending your game". NO players families could attend the game, so it just seems once again, he is making it kinda about himself. Did Garza tweet out 2 hours after the loss that "i really wish my dad could have been there tonight'? Maybe he did, I really don't know but I tend to doubt it.

I was surprised & disappointed in Joe T. He's tough physically & mentally. I thought he would step to the line & make both FTs to extend the lead to 5. Instead, he misses both, allowing Minny to tie it to send it to OT.Gotta make free throws. My concern is Joe W and CJ and even Jbo. Those guys are all way to good from the line to be missing that many free throws. Missing 30ft contested jumpers is one thing, but they call them free throws for a reason, and all those guys have shown their more then capable of shooting those at close to 90%. As someone mentioned CJ is 4-9 in the last three games, (2 losses), and thats simply not acceptable. Joe T has kind of a funky shot so he'll be somewhat inconsistent, and as I said I think Luka expends so much energy, that he's a little off later in the games, but I don't get the three snipers not being better. That won't do at all.....I was surprised & disappointed in Joe T. He's tough physically & mentally. I thought he would step to the line & make both FTs to extend the lead to 5. No, shit coaching/defense and letting them shoot the tying 3 instead of fouling is what sent it to OT. JoeT was 5-6 from line before missing those but the fact he got 8 free throws in 17 mins shows he's causing problems for defense. Connor played 34 mins and had 3 pts/2 boards. Jbo played 28 mins and didn't go to the line once and only had 3 assists and 7 points, same as joeT had playing 11 minutes fewer. Blame the guys who played most and shouldn't have had us in that situationI was surprised & disappointed in Joe T. He's tough physically & mentally. Minnesota is a good team, and it is on Iowa for not doing what they needed to do. Iowa had a multitude of areas that if they did better would have won. I'm glad they lost.
"I never lose, I either win or learn."What you're saying is true...This board is a sh*tshow after losses, and unfamiliar posters make a point to appear briefly and take shots, but you are the ONLY one I remember on here claiming to be a Hawk fan, that has said you're "glad they lost."
what amazes me is how people think that every night is going to be like playing Iowa State or UNC. Shit happens in games and sometimes your team loses as a result. What you're saying is true...This board is a sh*tshow after losses, and unfamiliar posters make a point to appear briefly and take shots, but you are the ONLY one I remember on here claiming to be a Hawk fan, that has said you're "glad they lost."
When guys are jump shooters, they will not shoot a lot of ft's. Jbo will never shoot a lot of ft's in a game unless the other team has to foul and he has the ball. If he was shooting the ball well, this would still be the case. JoeT does get to the line due to him being aggressive but it also gets him into foul trouble. That could be part of the reason why he does not start. I could easily see him getting 2 fouls in the first 10 minutes of a game and the team would be in the same situation. No, shit coaching/defense and letting them shoot the tying 3 instead of fouling is what sent it to OT.
