"It shouldn't matter when you lost," Saban told ESPN's Chris Low on Saturday night. "All that should matter is getting the four best teams, and it's also supposed to be your whole body of work. Let's say we had lost by 30 points to Texas A&M; do you think we would even be considered?"

So he is saying we could have gotten Fisher if we threw out a $80M offer?

K, Saban. "Say we had beaten Penn St. & Wisconsin and had two losses, think we'd get consideration"?

Hope he chokes on his tears this afternoon.

If Alabama was SEC champ with two losses they'd be in no question. Auburn would have been. Alabama has beat zero teams in the top 15 and tOSU beat 3. Also, Alabama played 3 cupcakes in non-conference and only 8 conference games.

I'm with Saban, with his recruiting, year in year out, there is no way even a above average coach like Ferentz, should be left out of a Division I Playoff. Although, he may have to ignore all the legitimate criteria used in previous years that got himin the playoff. If left out for cause, Saban should retire.

I think both Wisconsin and OSU should be in that top eight too.(and USC). PSU?

In the end, It may be the power and influence of these "elite" teams that finally gives us a 8 to 16 team playoff.

To be fair , no one had any idea Florida State would be mediocre. Preseason they were a top 5 team

The 3 non-conference cupcakes isn't including FSU. I left them out. It's also a big advantage only playing 8 conference games to. tOSU played 10 conference games including the championship. Alabama didn't beat anyone in the top 15 and didn't even have to play a championship game.

To Answer nicks Question, Yes. If you also beat two top five teams and one of those L’s came from a top 5 team that won their conference championship not got blew out in it! You don’t get in Nick but continue lobbying for your team that’s what you’re supposed to do. Next year, maybe the SEC will be good and you can lean on your tough conference if you do well but that didn’t happen this year..

You shouldn't be in consideration for the playoff if you can't even get into the conference championship game in what was a lousy conference this year. The poor quality of the SEC this year cannot be overstated

Alabamas schedule sucked. Worse than Wiscys.

Alabama's best win is against a team that LOST to Troy. What a scam!
