"Safety Checks" along 380 on Friday...

Haven't they done this before and then didn't actually have a checkpoint? Instead they put plainclothes officers at the rest stop before the supposed checkpoint to catch people dumping stuff.

They can make you pull over, but you don't have to submit to anything. If the departments don't have anything better to do than this, maybe it's time to cut back on funding.

I believe the state patrol has it built in the budget and their goals to have a certain number of these 'checkpoints' each year.

You would be shocked by how many drivers are out there without a valid license, registration or proof of insurance. Not to mention the drivers starting to sip on the 6-pack they just bought before they get home.

Just follow the laws and everything will be fine.
