Sam Brodner Highlights

Ugh. No thanks. Looks like a big strong kid, but he doesn't appear to have the burst or agility of a Big Ten RB. Hopefully we are recruiting him as a FB or LB.

I think more like Meir 2.0 in that they will have a hard time finding a position for him. RB, FB, LB, SS,

I just watched five minutes of highlights and don't think I saw him break a tackle or make anyone miss because he was rarely touched.

Weisman2.0?
Why?
Weisman walked on at Iowa as a fullback after leaving air force. Brodner won Illinois POY, runs a sub 4.5, has a 39 inch vertical, has great hands and has multiple P5 offers, including one from us and Wisconsin.
Same skin color, though.

seems like they were really upset with the brodner offer on halo. not sure why. looks solid to me, altho i agree that the FB as our RB strategy isn't a winner in B10 play.

He definitely has lower body strength and can decent top end speed. I think the thing throwing some people off is he just doesn't have a great body. He certainly doesn't look like a 4.4, 39" guy but I like his film. Not sure I believe he's 5'11"

First play ran over a tackler, makes people miss and doesn't get touched on some plays BECAUSE he is fast! Great speed - great athlete! This kid is a football player - sign him! Will he be a running back?? Don't know but this kid will help Iowa win at a high level because he'll play somewhere - special teams, linebacker, FB, RB? Get him!

He said he got an offer and the coaches told him a spot opened up because something happened with one of their players... it will be interesting to see who they are talking about. I am assuming that someone has indicated they have flipped and just haven't announced it or they are aware someone won't qualify academically.

Strictly guessing, I think Fant is gone.

Not saying he is the second coming but the first two highlights on this video he breaks 3-4 tackles

Afraid the kid would never see the field at RB so it would be better to just save the scholly. If he is willing to switch positions and the coaches see something they like then its a different story

I went to the state championship and saw him play. I am not saying he will be, or even could be, a RB in college, but I will say that he was the absolute best player on the field in the 7A championship against a very talented Libertyville team.

I don't think we offer fullbacks free rides. My guess he's a running back or maybe a safety. He's got skills or we wouldn't offer.

Not sure where the additional scholarship would have come from. I like our running backs that are committed.

He was the Illinois Gatorade Player of the Year. He's a talented kid. Wisconsin got a solid player. Not gonna lie....glad he's staying in B1G Country than going to Vandy. The league needs to keep some solid B1G footprint talent from going to other conferences.
