Fort Dodge sports editor reported that Cook was offered a full ride from Brands.

I've always felt he would be a good add at 197. I don't understand the full ride comment with Warner in the fold.

I just misread. It said full time commitment to the wrestling team not ride. It does appear Cook will be making the move to the mat in any case.

Didn't he have offers from Okie St coming out of high school?

Followed him for years when he was at FD. He was untouchable

From what I remember him coming out of high school he was pretty short and stocky. not sure he could fill out heavyweight very well

With a year of Doyle's strength and conditioning program you have to figure 84 is beyond him. I would guess 97 is his best weight. Did he RS last year in FB? If so does that mean he has 4 years of eligibility and can't also RS in wrestling?

He walks around 210lbs at the moment but thats on full feed football style. Just was too short for Iowa football. Walking on

I thought I ready he's about 5'9". Maybe Keddy/Bradleyish..

Would think he could step right in - not sure if him and Wilke crossed paths in high school, or Holloway. I see him at 84 - maybe he can take over for Brooks? Either way - great addition.

Any chance Warner could be a 184lber?

From seeing him in Omaha, not a chance. He looks about 6'1 or 6'2 with a frame screaming to add muscle on. I wouldn't be surprised to see him up around 225 after a year with Rutt.

This kid Cook I think will be a 184.

Sounds to me like a 184 pounder if he is at 210 fresh off a summer in the football program. It will be fun to see how he can progress with his athleticism.

This is good to hear....he wasn't going to see the field much in football....maybe special teams....but has a lot of wrestling potential....somebody said the other day in the lounge he was going to wrestle for ISU...if he could make 84....he could do some damage

Sound like the kid has the right attitude for sure. Now time to put away the football lungs and find the wrestling lungs.

Another great off season pick up. Loved this kid in HS. And he'll be at 184 for sure. Cook and Wilcke will be a great battle to see who comes out on top.

Top 100 overall recruit, adding to a pretty stellar class coming in this year. Nice bit of good fortune plus solid recruiting progress, glad to see us with increasingly better options at out upper weights.

Was he trying to walk on the football team??

He was with the football team as a walk on last year and would have been this season as well. He wasn't one of the 105 guys invited to preseason camp this year for the football team so it gave him time and reason to consider his future. Had he stayed with the football team he wouldn't have started practicing until the start of school.

He's tight with Teske whom Iowa has made serious inroads with recently.
