Why dont you just come out and say that your really not Iowa fans to start with instead of trying to put down the Iowa football program for timing. Nice that Stoops is allowed to be late to the party but Kirk just disrespected your family by being after Urban in the same offer.
Your kid aint coming to Iowa regardless for any sport. Just come out and say your an ISU fan from Ft Dodge but yet neither ISU football or ISU wrestling are worth a crap so now your likely hoping for Oklahoma wrestling to lead to football. No need to try and paint Kirk and his staff as pretenders after Ohio St.

Exactly. Its not like Kirk hasnt done this a million times with Iowa kids. But likely Kirk has never gotten any positive feedback from day 1 that Sam Cook even likes the Hawkeyes or has any interest. Or he even is for sure on football. Prolly was told the kid is way more Nik Moser than Randy Reiners from day one so why exhaust resources more than he needs to.
Or the honest answer they dont want to hear may be Kirk doesnt see anything other than a special team coverage tackler with decent speed and nice size but wont be D1 ready for 2 years in the program. Are we really going to question Kirks ability to locate Diamonds in the rough over Urban Meyer who gets spoon feed 4 & 5 stars all day? Bo Bower, Josey Jewell, Parker Hesse and on and on. Im sure Urban was in on them first. lol
I can question Kirk on lots of things but thats what Kirk does best, something from nothing. Gonna have to trust the coach on this one. Other things not so much but under recruited Iowa kids, cmon!

Why be such an a hole to a guy that actually comes on fill us in on what is going on? Iowa Football has nothing to do with Iowa wrestling and the wrestling coaches seem to be still going after this great athlete at a weight we need more talent. Why would you make it any harder for our coaches by being a prick?

Meeks didnt have the mental makeup to be all in from day one becaue that was never the goal. It was all about the degree and not owing money after college. I dont blame the dad or the kid. They won in life when you think about it. Good for them. They played KJ like a fiddle. But that blood thirsty do anything to be great like Gilman or Clark wasnt in the DNA.
Same for Noah hellickson, Kid won, He is at Harvard and getting money for it. Wrestling is secondary. Nobody goes to Iowa saying acadamics isnt important but they dont put anything above wrestling. There are plenty of easier rooms to get a degree in.

I'm not sure if anyone else picked up on this but Cooks pop mentioned Cal Poly's coach pressuring Sam for an answer so now they are out. Sam spent some time with Mike Evans, who is on staff there and now Mike is trying to convince Sam to go to Iowa. If all that's true and I'm the head coach at Cal Poly, I'm like WTF Mike?! Whatever, big guy talent is hard to come by and I'd love to see Sam in the Hawkeye room battling it out with Cash and Holloway.

I respect Mr.Cook for coming on and updating us on his kid but IHawk is right in his own way regarding the football stuff.

The Cal Poly coach is a very nice guy too. His wife is actually a native of Fort Dodge.
