Don't think I've seen Sapp play any better than in the second half against PU. He made shots, steals, assists and provided a swagger and confidence that was the catalyst for the historic comeback. He has to play well and consistently for Iowa to be a contender in the B1G.

The crossover step back three was one of the best basketball plays that I've ever seen an Iowa player make. Absolutely jukes the Purdue player onto the floor. I wished they had a better replay of that on tv.

Sapp has always seemed to play with a lack of confidence...IMHO...he also tends to hang his head...but agree, great half and he is another player with some confidence and mojo...can really jump up and contribute even more. Good for him...success after a lot of hard work. Hope he isn't seriously hurt and can answer the bell for next game...

I was one of those who has always believed that Clemmons would be best coming off the bench. I think he's shown the shooting and play-making ability to start. One thing that I find interesting is that he is actually the 3rd leading Hawk in terms of minutes. Gesell has 318, Uthoff 312, and Clemmons 311 (per Iowa's site). If he doesn't get hurt last night, he's second in minutes. I think this just reflects how much he and Gesell actually get minutes with the second team, ultimately making the "who should be starting?" question irrelevant.

After watching the second half the second time, a strong case for Sap as mvp of the game could be made, imo. I didn't really see it live but those first 4-5 minutes of half2, he did everything you can do on a bball court....that's good....put the team on his back and you could see the resolve in his body language. Others played huge, but he may have given the rest, the confidence to believe

His injury status could be a key to our season. Maybe I have CJ syndrome, but we can'talk afford to be without him.

If you listen closely you hear someone on the Iowa bench let a huge whoop when the kid falls. It's very clear on the broadcast.
