Uh, that's not even close to what I said.
But it would be defensible if you had. Say there was some business guy in town running for some office. You don't know him, but you have visited his shop and you like what he sells so you think he is fine. Then it comes out in the paper that the Grand Wizard of the KKK endorses the guy. Well now you're likely to want to do some more digging and not give him the benefit of the doubt. Endorsements from fools should speak to us, especially when the target of the endorsement is proud to be liked by the fool.

Well, there obviously exceptions that would cause me to question. But in your scenario, I'd have to look at the other alternatives to see why the Grand Wizard endorsed. It could merely be that the GZ was endorsing the lesser of two evils (in their demented mind). More likely, it would be a candidate that I was on the fence about anyway, and an endorsement by someone I don't like would be that last check in the "do not vote for" box. I'm most definitely not on the fence about Trump. I'd abstain from voting if he was the only candidate. The guy would be an unmitigated disaster as POTUS. Of course, most of the candidates would be, so that's not a huge black mark against him.

Really? Remember back, dude. Movies were written about it. It might have been the most epic U.S. political meltdown of all time. Gore wouldn't concede, they kept counting again and again and again. The screaming from the Democrats. Al Gore has never lived that down. Maybe you think the Obama election was worse because it was more recent, or maybe you aren't old enough to really remember that 2000 election. It was madness.

Again, your bias clouds your memory.

First, the "meltdown" occurred on both sides. Throughout the process the hysteria was just as loud -- if not louder -- from the right than from the left.

Second, they did not count again and again and again. Gored tried to get a single manual recount, and several counties were in the process of performing that recount, but Bush successfully blocked them from ever completing it.

Finally, after the SCOTUS ruled, Gore gave what was universally regarded as a gracious and healing concession speech. The real hysteria was occurring between the closing of polls and the actual resolution of the election. Once Bush was officially elected the reaction was not nearly as negative as we've seen from conservatived after every Democratic win since 1980.

I don't think I'm the one who's biased. I couldn't stand "W".

Remember all the "Not my President" garbage? 15 years is a long time ago.

I'll go ahead and say it, Trump is making this entire process a lot more fun than normal. As someone that doesn't really care about politics, and only pays passing attention to it for the entertainment factor, this has been (and will continue to be) must-see television.

I hope to hell that he wins the GOP nomination and matches up against Hillary in the fall. I will be legitimately torn 50/50 as to who I want to see come out on top. And don't think for a second that I don't recognize Trump for the raving lunatic that he is, because I surely do. It's just a more fun process with him around to liven things up.

that's because bush was a liberal democrat so the dems were fine with it

Did any of you actually listen to the word jumble speech she gave? She probably appeals to some people, and might help Trump in the early primaries. I don't think it's a great long term move. Palin is a moth to the flame. She has a lot of motivation to get herself attention, and I don't think she will play along with the Trump script. I don't know if she brings any new voters to Trump.
How does this look for John McCain? He's always backed Sarah Palin and she just endorsed a guy who demeaned McCain's service to his country, and mocked the brutality he endured as a POW. Not cool, Sara.

She just called Iowans "the hands that rock the craddle". Then I remembered why I like her. Then she went on to say illegals keep labor prices down and help the capitalists. That got me nodding until she claimed the capitalists were democrats which made me love her again. Please Trump, make her your VP and I'll caucus for you.

Please Muhammad, make this come true.

Are I heard ol' Sarah say Trump was gonna lead the charge in kickin' ISIS"s ass! The Donald and The Sarah going to volunteer their children to lead the charge?
I'm really sick and tired of folks volunteering others people's children to do their bidding.

While I understand what you are saying and i don't completely disagree with you, there is something missing from you comment.

Any military force used against ISIS or for any purpose is comprised of volunteers. Anyone that enlists knows what they are volunteering for, there are no secrets going in. In today's environment, it's well known going in what the state of the world is and the probability of conflict is pretty high.

Yes there has been no declared war since ww2 you are correct this is voluntary and so is our tax system by the way.

Come on, dude. It'll make what happened after "W" got elected look like a hippy peace circle. The dems sure know how to have an epic meltdown.
I think it would be miserable for all. Not only would we probably be in another war within 6 months, it would begin a 4-year assault on the White House by the mainstream media and MSNBC, which would get old very quickly. Also, the number of protests in front of the White House would increase 10-fold.

One of Palin's sons did serve in the Army in the 2000's, so kudos to him and her mom for that. But, I get the point. This narrative that we just need to unleash the armed forces and go swaggering around the ME kicking ass. Obama said he would pull the troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan when he ran, and he was elected partially because of this stance. People don't want another war. We've been at war since 2001 when the first special ops guys went into Afghanistan.
To be fair to Trump's kids, private prep schools can be brutal with the weekends taken up by polo and yachting. They've done their share.

I am shocked that Trump allowed Palin to take the microphone for so long yesterday. She really dominated the performance, and Trump doesn't like to be upstaged. I am dubious that this endorsement has lasting value. I was amused, however, by the breathless reporting by lame stream media types about some of Bristol Palin's tweets yesterday. Seriously?
