Now I'm confused.

I invited all of the Iowa basketball players to a shirt and skins scrimmage at my place this morning but none of the players have shown up yet. My driveway "court" isn't that bad, a little wider than most, and I added padding to the garage doors so no one would get injured. I even promised bottled water from an ice cooler so everyone could stay well hydrated. The first scrimmage is set to start in about half an hour so maybe I'm jumping the gun a bit. If you are an Iowa basketball player and you are reading this, I'm on the back patio -just give me a shout when you get here.

Weird. I invited the women's BB team for a shirt vs skins game and none of them showed up either.

Seriously tho, did they have a S and S game on Saturday? If not, when do they start that? I would definitely be interested in adding that to my tailgate agenda.

There was a practice from 9-10 before the football game on Saturday.

Not in this heat. Maybe before the Pittsburgh game. Given that it's a night game, could be at a strange time.

Yeah, building any arena without A/C is about the cheapest thing a cheap person could possibly do... And just think, for an extra $2 million (back in the early 80s), they could have added a middle tier with restrooms, skyboxes and concessions... and an ice rink for hockey, which would have been Fn sweet!
Most of the time, it does not pay to go cheap.

It was expensive at the time and limited by what the BOR would approve. And would probably be just as limited today.

It would be unheard of to build an arena without A/C today on a B1G level. As for the mid-level area, it would be cost effective to build, considering how Carver is built along a hill. At least that is what they said when they initial built the arena. One would have to assume the same today. It would not have taken much at all to do... They skimped on the building, no question.
Heck, they would have paid for the slight alteration in popcorn and soda sales...and my bladder relief fund. Those stairs do suck.

Being built into a hill....you would think a geo-thermal cooling system wouldn't be too hard to do. It doesn't have to be ice cold, just cool.

I'm assuming there'll be a S & S before the Pitt game. In addition to seeing Cook, that'll be the first in-person report we could have on Moss.
