It seems to me that from looking at the roster we need about 5 or 6 scholarship under class-men (JR and below) to move on to make room for this recruiting class. Anyone else see it this way?

Maybe they are happy with the players they have and will only recruit 19-20 this year. However, there are usually a couple players that leave to get closer to home, transfer to find playing time, or other personal reasons. Time will tell how many we will be able to sign.

Does anyone know where the Hawks sit, at this moment, with available scholarships for 2017?
With 5 commitments already, how many spots are left?

That would leave about 11. Unless some guys transfer, space is fairly limited.

Around 17 graduating and around 24 coming in. There are going to be a few defections.

The scholarship chart has 87 listed including 2016 signees. I think you'll see Kluver and Snyder added to that scholarship chart before August and both may already be scholarshiped and nothing has been released.. I already believe 1 or 2 are not with the team. Losing another 2-4 scholarship players before next August is highly likely.

I think I read a quote from Kirk saying there would only be 16-17 in this class and, with their current commits, they're almost 1/3 done. Can't remember which article, though.

There are only 14 scholarship players in the senior class. I'm guessing with 5-7 attrition #'s every year that the class will be 17-19 as we will over sign.
