Gotta love freestyle. Never thought that I would get to see a Cassioppi/Gadson match.

Lugo has some tough sledding. Gotta take out Henderson, Lee, and Maple to make final X.

Pat Downey…think he’ll show?

Can someone remind me what are some of Patricio's resent results?

The recent US Open he beat Heil 12-2 and lost to Maple 2-3, ended up forfeiting out after that I believe.

Took 3rd at the Dan Kolov. Not sure on level of competition that he faced.

Beat Lizak and Kolodzik and was leading Henderson 8-2 before getting pinned at OTT last chance qualifier. Has also beaten Pletcher a few times recently.

61 KG is extremely weak. Does anyone know why DeSanto isn’t wrestling? I would love to see how he could do in freestyle.

I’m not sure what’s going on but this is extremely disappointing to only see two guys wrestling. What happened to all this money that was raised a few years ago? Can we not afford to buy at least one guy that has a chance of sniffing a world medal or hell even the team? Outside of Lee can it really cost that much to keep all these other guys around that haven’t proven anything on the freestyle circuit in years? Not trying to be a dick but man it sucks when this seems to be the quality of the HWC for years now. When’s the last time we had more than one guy at a time that could even make the world team? Maybe I’m way off and not seeing the bigger picture.

Not sure if you noticed all the large braces on our guys at NCAAs.

I did. What’s the excuse for the past 5-10 years where I say we never have more than one guy a year that can make the team?

It is a fact that Gilman and Spencer have been the only legit senior level world team threats since Metcalf and Dennis and Spencer has been hurt most of the time. It is pretty tough to attain that level though. It took David Taylor a number of years to get there. Now I would like to see us get more options but that might have financial limits and honestly many in house guys are not known as freestyle guys and have been hurt as well. Bull, Kem, Young, Austin all were not huge freestyle guys. Eierman would be in the mix but hurt. Cass and Warner do have big freestyle backgrounds. Cass won U23 last year and sounds like he is giving it a go.

DeSanto may need more time to make the move to FS and recover. Not 100% sure that is the reasons why he isn't wrestling, but all I got 4 ya!
