Selection Sunday Surprises

How about 10 loss Duke getting a 4 seed.

Texas too what a joke at 6.

The West is incredibly weak compared to the teams in the south.

MSU getting bumped to a 2 probably helped Iowa. Would rather have Villinova vs West Virginia or Oklahoma IF we get by Temple

Theres a huge Wisky crowd waiting for their selection. So can we assume they will get in. That would mean WI, IN, Purdue are all in the last two regions

Michigan is in a Play-in game in Dayton. They are playing Tulsa for the right to play ND

Syracuse (19-13) is slightly more deserving than Nebraska. What a miserable selection. Nice job, committee. You are a bunch of bozos. Leave out a deserving team and just throw anybody in there. Good thing you have all those criteria to judge by. Just incredibly awful...Syracuse. Shame.

Syracuse, Vanderbilt, and Tulsa are pathetic at large selections. I mean terrible. The idea they may give credit to Syracuse for overcoming their coaches ban for violating NCAA rules is as dumb as it is inappropriate.

CBS was giving a lot of love. Said they win 2 games.... we shall see.

I have since switched channels. But when it was first announced. Charles said Iowa only because he was told. He said he hasnt watched neither Iowa nor Temple enough. Then everyone else kept going on and on about a Temple-Nova matchup.

So if they gave love, I must have missed that part

What about possibly Wisky Indiana and Michigan all in 1 region but no Big 10 team in the West.

That was done for Oklahoma who was knocked out by MSU last year. No coincidence that selection committee head I think was the Oklahoma AD.

To be honest the Big Ten Conference was slapped in the
face by the NCAA Selection Committee today. No respect
for Michigan State, Purdue, Maryland or Indiana. Yet Duke
with 10 losses gets a 4 seed.

I agree the BiG appeared to get dissed and the Big XII got a lot of respect. Since I am not a conspiracy theorist, my assessment is that the committee thought the latter conference was better than the former. Whether that is correct or not is another discussion altogether. But if you proceed from the assumption that the Big XII was stronger than the BiG this season, the seeding is fairly logical.

For the benefit of the mouth-breathers, I will repeat: Whether that is correct or not is another discussion altogether. In other words, I'm not claiming this "proves" anything about the relative strength of the leagues. My point relates to the perception by the committee members.

Agree..... Should have been a 3

isu grad logic truly believes that 13-11 since winning their Super Bowl justifies isu being a 3 seed.

What is next the SOS argument or the close loss argument? Either way it will be entertaining watching isu grad fall all over themselves.

They pretty much said that strength of schedule matters.

So isu grad goes to the SOS argument. The funny thing about isu grads touting SOS is that if SOS was accurate, teams with better SOS would do better in the post season.

Maybe some day isu grad will have an argument that isn't a myth.
