does anyone else think magic man completely over hyped adding coke-freak to his rtc

This is a huge development for "his" RTC.

Z was already the next man up at 86, with the (soon-to-be) retirement of DT and Brooks going up. Z's problem has always been his lifestyle and resulting gas tank.

IF, and its a big if - he commits to the lifestyle DT is going to require, Z can rattle off some world golds this next cycle. I'd say he's the current favorite for 2028 at 86kg. I would bet he's properly motivated considering the Olympics will also be in his hometown.

And as we've talked about... DT isn't taking him on without there being a very well stated and agreed to standard on lifestyle.

I’d be tickled pink to have Valencia in the HWC; not sure why people would think DT wouldn’t be happy to get him.
I’d be tickled pink to have someone other than Spencer that’s a legit threat to be a world team member in the HWC.

I’m not sure why this hasn’t been addressed in the past several years. Pretty sure world and Olympic champs is used in every recruiting pitch. In my eyes our lack of depth and seeming investment in the HWC is a big detriment in recruiting elite level athletes.

Bo Basset has Olympic wrestling aspirations. If he looks back at our history he sees Lee, Gilman, Dennis. Well he doesn’t wrestle 57kg’s. The facility is built. Need to start seeing an investment in our RTC talent. Now.

Back when the Hawks could just use the HWC as an extension of the team, they were the best program in the country. They had olympic champs and medalists in the HWC that wrestled for the Hawks. (Lewis, Alger, McIllravy, Davis, Banachs, etc..) They had the best coach in the country and a new system of training that bred champs and made it the place where recruits wanted to go.

That has changed. If TnT are not willing to take a different approach with the HWC, then they will fall further behind at the NCAA tourney. I actually respect TnT's approach to being loyal to the guys who wrestled as a Hawk. It just may not result in more NCAA team titles.

Let's see if they can buy a championship team or 2 with NIL money. If so, they have the best of both worlds.

It’s not real and I’m not guessing
Well the Mizzou and Okie St. amounts to Hendrickson are real and I’m not guessing on those either. I don’t know the Iowa amounts, but just assumed since the Hendrickson amounts are real, that the rumored Iowa amounts might be.
