Seth Greenberg: Wieskamp will be All B1G Player & is 1 of most under appreciated players in country

Not that I had any doubts about Joey. But Greenberg really knows his stuff and doesn't pull any punches

I like the comments I have been reading & hearing from analysts saying he is a fantastic defender. VERY much like that!

Not only are we getting a kicka$$ offensive talent. We are getting a truly well rounded player & person. Starter, day one.

Yeah his game is rather well rounded, have liked that from Day 1. He's a good shooter, but even if he's not a great college shooter he will be a good college player with his other abilities to get fouled, rebound, pass and defend.

He will play 4 years at Iowa and will end up with a ton of stats that put him high in the record books.

The front court is too loaded. So I see Joe W at the 2 verse the 3, at least to start his career... That leaves only one choice - Moss. However, if Moss can show some significant improvement(which we all hope he does!), or Joe W turns out to not be the McDonald's AA that people are saying he will be, then Isaiah would keep the spot. Assuming someone else doesn't spike and leapfrog him, which seems quite unlikely.

If he starts or not, he will see a lot of playing time. There is also no reason Moss and him can't both play.

Good question and good problem to have. Unless Baer slides back over to the 4 (which I don't think will happen) I don't see him starting but I see him getting starter minutes at the 2 & 3 combined.

Yes I really don't care whether or not he starts is first year. He is a good player that would help Iowa this year. He is good enough to help Iowa immediately, whether it's starting or playing a significant role off the bench.

His defense has improved over the last year. I wasn't sure if he would ever get to be a good defender, simply because he plays almost every minute of school ball and most minutes of AAU. He shoulders a lot of the offensive load in school ball. He didnt have much help last year.

I could see Baer, Moss and Wieskamp at the wings next year and all getting starter minutes. I can Imagine Connor backing up Bohannon and moving to a wing on occasion.

The thing about Wieskamp is not only that he is one of the most talented players in the country, he also fits the Iowa system as if groomed for it from day one. Same with Connor, because he was! :)

We should be in great shape with depth everywhere next season. Kreiner/Garza at the 5, Cook/Pemsl/Nunge at the 4/5, Baer/ Wagner at the 3/4, Moss and Joe at the 2/3, J Bo at the 1 and maybe some at the two, and lastly Conner and Brady at the 1/2. That leaves CW and MD out of the mix for meaningful minutes and assumes a redshirt for the new recruit. With Patrick and hopefully a point on the way the Hawkeyes will be loaded. It's way too soon to count our chickens, but we've got a bunch of good eggs.

I like the way you put this. There are times when just naming off names is all a fan can do....I still recall talk of Brommers and such. Yes, we can see that the eggs look way better then many times in the past...now we just gotta get the results out of 'em.

Yep, you got to crack a few eggs to make that cake! :D
