Seton Hall game

Seton Hall was a competitive team last year. They can beat us easy if we don't have the offense, and we'll find out right away whether our defensive effort in the first two games was more indicative of our competition or if we really have issues.

The game is also on BTN.

Lots of 6-8, 6-9 leapers, with several kids from Jersey and N.Y. Rangy guards, quick. Will be an upset if we win.

Super smooth scoring guard in Carrington(lefty) and muscled rebounding machine inside with Delgado(6'10", 240#).
They will be a tough test.

Looking at the Hawkeyesports.com website, there is a TON of tickets left. Im disappointed that more fans do not get behind basketball. This is a big game for our young team.

Why is tip-off 8 PM? I'd be more inclined to go to a mid-week game if it was a little earlier.

Reading about this team, they appear similar to the Hawks. A bunch of tall guys from 6'5 to 6'10. The difference is they have a bunch of juniors and we have mostly freshman and sophomore. That points to a Seton Hall win in my opinion. Remember how badly we punked Marquette last year with a veteran team against a talented but young Marquette team? I hope this one doesn't turn out the same, but it is within the realm of possibility if Jok has a poor shooting night. On the other hand, if we shoot the ball well and they don't, we could certainly win. I'd like to think the home court advantage is a plus, but I'm expecting a pretty sleep Carver crowd this early in the season.

Well you are either going to get a 6 or 8 pm tip time for mid-week TV games. Some people can't make 6 because of work and travel. Some people can't make 8 because of getting home late and work the next day. Other people are also both.

There's no excuse for a light crowd tomorrow night. U of I faculty & staff get in free with their ID and they are allowed to purchase guest tickets at $5 a pop. Best bargain of the season! Get your asses to Carver tomorrow night!

CHA isn't one of the most daunting venues for an opponent.
I've been to some games with crowd energy that seemed to help the Hawks. But more than a few over the years that were pretty quiet.
Some terrible sight lines, but the old Fieldhouse was a true home court advantage.

The opener against kennesaw was dead and sparse attendance.

I'll be there tonight, but not expecting much of a crowd. Or enthusiasm.
