Reports of people driving around with machetes. I think I'll chill inside today.
Driving around with machetes, or walking their fish down the street. Never a dull moment.
There was some violence in Coralville last night. Damage to some smoke shop and the Wal-Mart.

I have been pleasantly surprised at the Mayor and Police Chief’s handling of the crisis. They seem to be striking the right tone and responding well.

Davenport/Bettendorf will likely be tame tonight with all the focus on it. Moline/Rock Island will be the target tonight. These are mainly traveling groups doing this that were fanning the flames for others who wanted to join in. Most of the cars that were teasing cops all night were using Facebook messenger to meet at different locations. It was usually 5-10 cars are a time meeting up at various spots spreading the cops out. Someone was listening to the police scanner because once the cops got there they were gone and another location had cars circling it. These cars had blacked out plates.
Pretty sure the car that ambushed the cops and shot was local people however. It was a mix of out of town trouble makers and in town people getting riled up. The group knew starting stuff would mount.
Like I said tonight likely will be calm on the Iowa side. Illinois side, buckle up.

Stick to the script, it was the Antifa. Much easier for the Fox News crowd to digest if you say it's some mythical organization versus standard street gangs taking advantage of a situation.
I got to see the security footage for the Neckers incident. 5 cars showed up, backed in, about 10 people got out, they went to go peak through the front doors, another set of 5 cars showed up, the original group ran back to their cars, they shared some words with each other, the second group drove off, someone must have heard or saw someone at the back of the building so 4 of them ran back and fired off a bunch of shots, and then they GTFOd.

Downtown dport really doesnt seem like a place that would have problems. The protest on saturday was very peaceful. Downtown is just bars and apartments and not much retail. Seems like everything will be spread out through town and smash and grabs
My car got broken into last year and he was part of a group that went to and from Chicago stealing and breaking into cars.. guessing that is a majority of the problems.. or atleast the group thats stoking the flames

I actually got my shotgun out and cleaned it today for the first time in a decade. I sincerely hope that was a waste of time, but if these people start targeting residences I'm not going to be the victim whose firearm was still safely locked away.
