Shots fired on Interstate 80

The Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of shots fired on Interstate 80 near Neola Tuesday morning.

Around 5:20 a.m., Tyler Carfora, 20, of Colorado, was westbound on Interstate 80 near the 24-mile marker in a 2010 Audi when a man driving a gray car with Wisconsin plates pulled beside her and allegedly fired a handgun toward the Audi. The shot hit the passenger rear tire of the Audi, the sheriff’s office said.


Carfora was able to pull her vehicle over safely. The sheriff’s office said the Audi’s tire had damage consistent with a gunshot.

The suspect was described as a white male in his 20s. His vehicle had stickers on the back and blankets in the rear window. The sheriff’s office said it’s believed the gunshots were an isolated incident as a result of road rage.

An investigation into the incident continues.

Here's a thought. Tyler might be a dyke. So in Iowa this could have happened on Hwy 20 near Dike.

The guy was probably left lane camping at 5:30 a.m. had it coming. Left Lane Camping should be punishable by death. I mean it. I hate those losers who drive in the LL.

Going to Des Moines last Saturday there was a yellow Honda hanging in the left lane ahead of me. About five cars passed him in the right lane, aggressively cutting back into the left lane right in front of him. I don't know if he was yapping on the phone, or intentionally pissing off other drivers, but I backed it off a few mph to give them more distance in front of me. I figured the next thing was a pile up.

I've lived in multiple place around the country. When it comes to hanging out in the left lane, Illinois drivers and Eastern Iowans take the cake. If you live in Eastern Iowa and don't notice it, then you're most likely part of the problem.

Don't get me started on how terrible Eastern Iowa drivers are. Most of you missed the common sense driving gene.
