Should be required reading for Democrats..

Read 2 paragraphs, felt over the top to me. What's clear is that the last election was a rejection of the direction the Biden admin had us going.

It's sort of like this, fairly simple:
Previous Trump admin left something to be desired, so the people brought Biden in...
Biden admin was bad enough that the people chose to go back to Trump rather than continue down that road.

It's pretty clear, as the article implies, that the majority of Americans are tired of the culture war/identity politics that seemed to infiltrate every aspect of life.

MAGA is on the front of the culture war and identity politics. They are waging the war.

People rejected high grocery prices. That's it. That's what swayed the couple of percent needed for Trump to win.

The MAGA base wants to believe that it is validation of all of their core beliefs and rejection of everything left. All of America is on their side now and rejects the left.

"We won't let those dumb libtard leftists divide us anymore!! All they do is cause division!"

Still have to laugh at the "majority of Americans" rhetoric. Just no.

Many families have given up on being able to afford groceries in this Trump economy. People are getting second and even third jobs just to buy eggs for their loved ones.
Trump has been President for less than 48 hours. You can hardly call this his economy. Inflation was at 1.4% when Trump left office in 2020. In May of last year, CPI was up over 19% since the beginning of Biden's term.
The 2024 election was a clear rejection of "Bidenomics." Hell, even the Biden Administration stopped using the term because they knew it didn't work.

It is absolutely his economy. He promised to have everything fixed by now. Instead, we don't even have concepts yet for inflation. If he wants to make all these wild promises, he deserves criticism when those promises fail.

Nobody is fighting a culture war more than MAGA.

Nothing more jaw-dropping than when I hear people claim that Trump, the most hateful and divisive President in my life, is going to “unite” the country.

You are responding to a parody post.

That article is a heaping pile of crap, and the author is delusional. Try finding an actual thoughtful article next time.

MAGA didn't start the war, they're simply fighting back, and the majority of Americans agree with a few things they're fighting back on. Trump seized on those few things. For example:
1. Biological boys in girls sports (even majority Dems oppose that)
2. Hiring/promoting/scholarships/etc. based on race/sexual orientation vs. merit - another issue many Dems aren't aligned with.
3. Cancel culture: this is a creation of the far left, and again, most Dems don't want this.

If it were up to the right, people would be gay, trans, whatever and they'd live their lives accordingly, and leave them the eff alone. Instead, once the left started pushing 22 genders on students and requiring them to subscribe to it...That got parents involved who didn't realize what schools were doing, and again, many Dems don't agree with that.

When it comes to the culture war, that's where the election was lost for Dems. Because many within their own party silently didn't support the culture war they started.

And yes, people rejected high grocery prices too.

Nobody does cancel culture more than conservatives. Nobody uses cultural issues as political fodder more than conservatives.

Ask the Dixie Chix, Budweiser, Colin Kapernick, Disney, and a host of others who is cancelling them. Don’t stand for the National Anthem at a football game and see who comes after you. And who is still fighting against the rights of gays to marry or women to serve in combat?

Conservatis just believe their cancel culture is patriotic.

Imagine how awful your second wife has to be to go back to your first.

It's hilarious to me that you think the Dems invented cancel culture.

Dixie Chicks went from being an extremely popular country band to not being heard on the radio overnight because they criticized a president that *checks notes* is now being criticized by most of his party including the POTUS.

It's completely amazing that the right now pretty much agrees with them but they still can't get back on the radio.

Biden was president for a few days when people started screaming about gas prices and inflation. I guess his policies just work that fast huh?

Inflation rate rose 1300% in 2020 but yeah, that's all on Biden. Inflation rate was around 2.9% before Covid hit and then went negative briefly during the supply chain crunch and then rebounded hard and rose steadily 2020-2022. Yes, inflation happened. Pointing out that it happened doesn't prove your point. We would have experienced the same inflation had Trump managed to steal the 2020 election.

2024 was decided by middle of the road people believing the narratives about grocery prices and that Trump would "fix" them. The narrative of the economy being bad was entirely based on grocery prices. If grocery prices don't fall, then the same logic should apply here although I know that it won't for the MAGAs. It definitely will for the middle of the road people.
