Title of the thread is horrific. Doctor, and every healthcare practitioner, should absolutely obtain informed consent prior to every healthcare procedure, if possible. The bill really isn’t about informed consent though. But who to get it from.

My guess is that they think former patients are going to start suing because they did not have adequate consent for gender care. This law would mean the doctor are not liable for what they did to the minor.

Are you considering bottom surgery as a sex change? I don't know of any minors in Iowa who have had bottom surgery, but I can't promise it hasn't happened anywhere. In iowa they make you wait until you are 18 for bottom surgery.
