Do they have anyone who can match up against Garza? I would be very tempted to run the shot clock down to about 10 each possession and then get the ball to him or Weezy.
Perhaps with no bench, they should. You want to slow down the third most efficient offense in the country?
Per kenpom Dayton is #4 in AdjO and #217 in AdjT. Oregon is #6 in AdjO and #307 in AdjT. If the starters are going to be forced to play 34+ minutes why play fast? Nebby is an uptempo team as well. You want to slow down the third most efficient offense in the country?
I am guessing we don't press a whole lot.Perhaps with no bench, they should.
Every game in which we have had a 10+ point lead with 7 minutes to go and we are in the bonus. At what point in Frans 10 years has he slowed a game down?
Oh boyWe are going to need Bakari to play well Tuesday night.
And if Cordell can make better decisions as far as passing the ball.We are going to need Bakari to play well Tuesday night.
There's a good chance tomorrow's game will be an absolute shit show.Perhaps with no bench, they should.
I am guessing we don't press a whole lot.
No. They are not built that way. You start to eliminate some of our strengths. The key is rotations which won’t put offensive deficient combinations on the court. 3 scorers on the court at all times. Evelyn, Pemsl and Till need to score 12-16 points between the 3 of them and play good defense.Do they have anyone who can match up against Garza? I would be very tempted to run the shot clock down to about 10 each possession and then get the ball to him or Weezy.
Yes, absolutely. But I don’t think we can afford for anyone to play softly. Everyone should try to overachieve. We are going to need Bakari to play well Tuesday night.

Cordell had one great game in his Iowa Career. And it couldn't have been against a better team. But we are in pretty bad shape when we have to play him. Somehow I hope he can pick up his game....And if Cordell can make better decisions as far as passing the ball.
It depends on what kind of a defensive team Nebbie is. If they are tough in the half court defense, then we want to run and beat them in transition. If they aren't a good defense, then slow it down, work the clock and pound it into Luka. Go Hawks!Do they have anyone who can match up against Garza? I would be very tempted to run the shot clock down to about 10 each possession and then get the ball to him or Weezy.
I would say don’t slow down in games but curtail there practice times.Perhaps with no bench, they should.
And if Cordell can make better decisions as far as passing the ball.
That simply isn't true. CP had a pretty solid freshman year. Then the injuries flared back up, and he's struggled being able to get his body right. I'd take him the way he played as a frosh right now, no question....Cordell had one great game in his Iowa Career. And it couldn't have been against a better team. But we are in pretty bad shape when we have to play him. Somehow I hope he can pick up his game....
I remember it filtering down to the high school level. One of my boys was playing against Liberty High when they were the #1 ranked team in Missouri large class. Our coach knew that we didn't have the horses to keep up with them, so he went into the 4 corners right out of the opening jump. Kept him in the game for awhile, it was 8-6 at the half. Most painful game to watch I've ever been too. We ended up losing like 44-28 or something, but it was excruciating to sit through. Some teams have painful memories of this.
LOL - it’s sad that I’m old enough to remember the ‘4 corners’ offense b4 implementation of shot clock.4 corners!
I didn't know that a coach at WV Tech created that set in the 50's. However, as a youngster, I remember watching it when Dean Smith used it in the '60's. Very painful to watch. Most painful game to watch I've ever been too.
Right there with you. Getting closer to 70 faster than I like.LOL - it’s sad that I’m old enough to remember the ‘4 corners’ offense b4 implementation of shot clock.
