McCollum/Ferentz

yeah man you nailed literally every mid major coach who has a slow offense is exactly like Todd Lickliter, this is a very keen basketball insight
Did I say that? Just throwing a little reality into the discussion. Fran's teams played a fast paced entertaining brand of basketball. Couldn't win enough games to satisfy the masses. McCollum teams definitely play at a slower pace but he's been really successful at lower levels with it. People saying they're fine with trading a fast paced game to win 30, like it's a given that he can replicate that at Iowa. He might be great or you might be trading an entertaining but mediocre product for a less than entertaining less than mediocre product.

McCollum doesn’t always play at a slow pace. He adjusts based on the players he has.

Sounds similar to what people were saying about Lickliter. Butler went 29-7 and were an NCAA darling before he came to Iowa. Worked out great.
Except Brad Stevens coached those teams. Lickliter was a figurehead. Anyone who pays any attention should know all about that by now. Of course, Gary Barta had no idea at the time . . . no idea at all. What a guy.
