At the conclusion of this past season, Dickerson announced that he will transfer from South Dakota and play his final year of eligibility elsewhere. TD is on the market as a grad transfer so he has immediate eligibility for the 17/18 season. Trey averaged 10.4 ppg, 2.8 apg, 40.4 FG%, 33% 3PT for USD but split a lot of time at PG with true freshman Triston Simpson and was often on the bench at the end of games.

According to Dickerson, he has already been contacted by Seton Hall, Memphis, and DePaul. He has a visit scheduled to New Mexico State next week and Georgetown May 6th.

According to this site, Michigan is also interested and Beilein has contacted Dickerson.

Travel Agent Trey. I'm just glad he has somehow earned a degree.

As to interest? What does that mean Trey? Those places answered their phone?

Trey has certainly been adept at playing the system. But, judging from the interest he has garnered, the system has been quite willing to play along with him.

Wow, really like this kid's quickness. Anthony Clemmons seems to think Trey could be that 'get in the lane', 'breakdown' guard the Hawks have been looking for. With Fran's eye for talent, you have to think he'd find a way to make room for this tempo-changer

Huh??? Why people are so infatuated with the "get in the lane" guy is fascinating to me. That is not the way Fran coaches up his guys. His system requires his PG to run his half court set, shoot well enough, get the ball to the right guy, and most of all do not turn it over. Pretty much nothing that kid can do. Keep hoping for the smallish quick guy that is a "slasher"...do not think you will see that kid of guy in the Fran system......especially a re-run

winner winner winner .....ding..ding...ding...."get in the lane" guy :p.

I would add...Fran's PG system also requires pushing the ball...JBo got better & better as the season unfolded.

Course*** we consume ourselves with the offense...common for us novices.
I'm more pointed at the defense & rebounding than a "get in the lane" guy.

I think the guy you quoted was being a bit sarcastic

What no interest from ISU, or has he worn out his welcome in the state?

No, no, no. It's like baseball, the best fielders never throw the ball, all kinds of things can go wrong! No, they pick the ball up and run right at the baserunner! Or football, the best teams don't have quarterbacks that hand the ball off or throw it. They have ten linemen and a Wholeback who takes the snap and heads for the end zone!

See, it makes it easier to watch any game if only one guy handles the ball most of the time.

Clearly an uptight crowd today lol. At least Storm was paying attention. I was pretty proud of that one myself;)

The hilarious part is that Fran did infact sign this exact player, that he suposedly didnt/doesnt want.

After missing on Ulis an even smaller pg, whos entire game was getting in the lane.

Then tried to sign Charlie Moore before offering Bohanon.

Lets be honest, every coach in the world wants a pg who can beat their man off the dribble.

I think the hilarious part is cocoem is exactly right. But your are taking it to mean that posters like cocoem and myself and others think that we don't want, and don't think Fran should want, Or think Fran doesn't want, a point guard who can blow by his defender, get into the lane and make shots or dish off.

We know who Fran has recruited. We know he signed Dickerson. Please give posters that much credit.

And in return I'll give you credit for knowing what kind of offense Iowa runs. I'll give you credit for knowing that there are more things about being a good point guard than just driving to the bucket.

Could we always use a guy with penetration skills? Sure. But good passing, good shooting, leadership, ball handling........and a point guard that fits the system like he was designed for it, is pretty good stuff as well.

See, we get this backwards sometimes. Nobody is repetitively posting about how we don't want a point guard who can break defenses down by penetration (as one method of the drive, dish or shoot trilogy). The debate comes when posters insist that it is the team's biggest need. How about rebounding and defense? Our offense was pretty good last year and usually is.

None of that is directly relevant to my reply to his initial claims. And its based on allot of false dichotomies and assumptions.

He used Dickerson as an example of the type of player Fran doesnt want. Which is obviously silly.

The idea that Iowa runs some system that only certain player's fit in is laughable. It has adapted on a yearly basis depending on the players strengths. The main constant has been a fast tempo.

Even more laughable is the idea that what we saw the last couple years is Frans ideal offense. We've had some really good shooters that have had to take a ton of tough shots, and they have mase a surprisingly high amout of them.

No one specifically wants to have an offense designed to take difficult shots.

Well, I can't do much more but offer up some points that we could have agreed on to come up with some dialogue. Maybe somebody with better communication skills than I has a chance.

I dont dissagree with anything you said, I just didnt think it was specifically pertinent to the 2 posts regarding TD.

That's too bad. Andrew seemed like a good kid and he seemed pretty excited to get it going this season. He must really have not hit it off with the new coach.
