Nah Hyvee is it’s own thing not a target.
Interesting. HyVee is small potatoes compared to them, although HyVee is trying to get in the mix.
It’s in the twin cities? Maybe it is a targetIn KC and Twin Cities now.
Trying for Nashville and Indianapolis too but those plans are on hold for the time being. In KC and Twin Cities now.
Byte is get small by comparison and employee owned, not traded. Big difference.
I think city market and king sooper are part of Kroger. Albertsons is huge in California.
Albertsons has Safeway, Osco/Jewel and many other brands throughout the county. It's a very large company and this merger makes Kroger huge. One of them also has Safeway.
It’ll pass unless Walmart has something to say about it. N

Well, let’s change it then.I don’t see how anti trust issues come into play on this. This will not impact consumers negatively as it is such a price sensitive and highly competitive industry
There are areas where Albertsons/Safeway and Kroger are the only options. Here in Dallas, for me to go to any other standard grocery store, it's pretty far out of the way. Yeah, I can go to Whole Foods or Central Market, but I can't get 7 Up or Tide or batteries or Windex or Jif etc. at those places.I don’t see how anti trust issues come into play on this. You can get those through Amazon though. There are areas where Albertsons/Safeway and Kroger are the only options. I live in Addison so I can get to Frisco easily enough to go to HEB, but that's still 30 miles round trip up the toll way.
That is interesting. How are their current stores as far as service and price? There are areas where Albertsons/Safeway and Kroger are the only options. The Safeways here are called Tom Thumb, and for the most part, they're better than Kroger. If HEB wasn't 16 miles up the toll way, I would go there because their in-store brands are generally of higher quality and prices are comparable. That is interesting. As for Target and Walmart, they are dirty and don't have the quality of choices I'm looking for. Their produce is ready for the bin.
When I'm in Colorado, I have to shop at King Soopers, which is a Kroger derivative. It isn't very good. The produce is subpar at best. There's a Safeway nearby, but it was recently converted from an Albertsons and it's a mess. Every time I'm in there, I find something on the shelf that's moldy. I can get to a Whole Foods, but it's 10 miles away and I have to deal with I-25 insanity. Sprouts has better produce, but it's harder to get to and I hate the parking lot.Kroger is a terrible employer, according to people around here.
My market went from a local chain Sessles, to Albertsons, to Schnucks, to Kroger.
All the same shit under different labels for the consumer I say
I had no idea Randall's was still around.
In some locations you can get it within 2 hours. Still, the point is there is ample competition. Not in 30 minutes.
Pulling out is usually for the bestAlbertson’s has pulled out of the merger.
