since the other thread got a little carried away next years starting 5

Hawkhazz I am by no means a basketball expert, but after reading four of your posts I am confident that I know at least as much you do. So this season so far you haven't seen Uhl play the 5 or cover the opponents 5?

go ask Fran long before you ask me, also Fran now has the option of going with a 3 guard 2 forward line up or a 3 forward 2 guard line up to match what the other team puts out there, something that Fran didn't have the past 5 years,

funny how people who really know nothing about BB make things up to suit their fancy
OK man, so let me get this straight. You are the one claiming a starting lineup next year of Kriener and Cook at the post....although I am high on both Kriener is currently playing in what 1A or 2A in the state of Iowa and next year you think he is going to be our starting center in the Big Ten (I love the kid but really) Cook is a great athlete but has much to improve on, the kid is only averaging 10 points 5 rebounds for his HS team, not that is bad but do you think he would maintain that in college. And lastly you are the one piping off about Uhl never playing the 5 for Iowa and literally found 2 articles about 2 separate games in which Uhl played the five (Drake and Purdue). Oh and you are not even considering Baer as a starter next year....Really?!?!?!?!?!You don't think that Baer could possibly be our 3 next year? If he is not the 3 then where? Maybe the 4 but then who is the 5? Kriener or cook? OK so now where does Uhl play? What about Wagner.... SO you tell me who is the person who appears like they know nothing about basketball.......at this point if you dont think the Jok Uhl Baer are starting next year you are crazy. With those three you have to put Baer at the 3, Jok at the 2, find a point gaurd, and Uhl has to play either the 4 or 5. You also have to remember that in Fran's system all 5 positions are interchangable especially the 1-4, which is why you can and will see JU, Uhl, and some of our bigs with handles bring the ball up court

Yeah, its like the idea that Uhl enters the game when Jok leaves means they are playing the same position. Ute moves to 3, his natural spot to the extent the position is typecast, when Jok leaves. Uhl comes in at 4 and moves to 5 when Woody is out. Or the other way around. Its just the rotation, not the position. There is nothing about Dom's game that looks like a 3 except the occasional 3 point field goal attempt.

Dom's been playing well at the 4 and 5 this season, definitely improving.
