Single Game Tix for Minnesota go on sale Wed at 9 AM

Over twice as much as the next ticket to the other 4 games shown - Thank God they can find somebody to fund their Athletic Program! LOL!

They are price gouging this game! 99 bucks for the cheapest seats?! I lived in Minneapolis over ten years and going back to run marathon the day after game this year. I can't stand the U of M (if you are from Iowa and lived there you understand). I may stay away. I don't want to get taken advantage by the chickenbleep athletic department.

I only vaguely know the story, but UMinn attempted to implement a fairly expensive forced-donation policy to buy season tickets and it blew up in their face.

Some other info:

Student season-ticket sales have steadily dropped from 10,000 in the first year at the 50,800-seat TCF Bank Stadium, to 7,800 the second year to less than 6,000 last year. Now, with the team's first home game on Sept. 8 less than a month away, roughly 2,000 student season tickets have been sold for the $288 million on-campus stadium that was seen as a key to rekindling passion and attendance after almost three decades in the Metrodome.

Gophers officials insist they are holding onto fans, and that 90 percent of all season ticket holders at TCF Bank Stadium have re-upped for this year. But average football attendance at the new stadium has declined from nearly 51,000 fans a game in the first year of 2009 to 47,714 fans a year ago.

Holy price gouging. $85 for the cheapest seat. Yeah we charged $85 for MI but that was for any ticket you could get.

No way those seats cost more than that on game days. I'll take my chances with that since I'm not making a special trip there for the game. Never paid $100 for a ticket before and don't plan to now.

You're probably right but there are some factors playing against that. 1) Iowa fans travel well, 2) we are by far the best team they play at home this year, and 3) Both teams may be undefeated going into this game and they will have a chance to steal the B1G West division. Plus, with tickets this pricey you're going to run the risk of buying counterfeit tickets on game day.

The shine surrounding the Gopher program has dulled since Kill stepped down and Claeys took over. I think it will be an easier ticket than 2014 on the secondary market when I paid $100 for two tickets.

Regarding counterfeit tickets: be careful. I've scalped tickets all across the country but only had an issue for a Gopher game. Likewise, a friend of mine got burned during 2011's NDSU game at TCF.

I hear you but I've bought game day tickets 150-200 times over the last 30 years. If it's that difficult I just won't go.

There will be Tickets avail closer to game at those prices. You will be able to get lowers for $100 which UM is asking $145 for. UM ticket office funnels many of their tickets to a local scalper last minute so many of those will hit the market/street as well.

Keep in mind the Vikings play the Texans the next day so many hawk/vikes fans will make it a double header. I think the TC Marathon is also that Sunday which got bumped back a week bc of the Ryder Cup.

They do up the price for the Iowa game. As someone mentioned this is Minny's Super Bowl. This could be a very tough ticket at game time if both teams are undefeated.
