'Single greatest insider threat': Internal govt watchdog sounds alarm over DOGE staffers

Wired is reporting that an internal government threat assessment team has determined that staffers working for Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency should be considered an "insider threat" to sensitive government data.

Guessing this government watchdog won't be around long. Really curious to see what the final outcome of the Musk/Minons?DOGE thing is going to be.

An internal email obtained by Wired that was sent to the Bureau of the Fiscal Service’s (BSF) IT division and others outlined the dangers of giving Musk's minions access to highly sensitive government functions such as the Treasury Department's internal payment mechanisms.

The email recommended revoking the DOGE members' access to payment systems, as well as other steps to ensure they cannot do harm to government secrecy.

“There is reporting at other federal agencies indicating that DOGE members have performed unauthorized changes and locked civil servants out of the sensitive systems they gained access to,” the email states.

“We further recommend that DOGE members be placed under insider threat monitoring and alerting after their access to payment systems is revoked. Continued access to any payment systems by DOGE members, even ‘read only,’ likely poses the single greatest insider threat risk the Bureau of the Fiscal Service has ever faced.”

Amazing how worked up people are getting when the books are checked to see who is getting paid.

This is way too funny, like train wreck viewing funny. D's and R's defending their own liars while pointing fingers. Didn't your momma teach you about pointing fingers? You look silly. Cat is out of the bag.

You D's are losing your mind collectively and individually. So call me weird.
I said "weird response" because what you said had nothing to do with what I said.

What are you drinking?

This is more of what you're helping cover up, even if you're too stubborn to realize it. Billions of waste fraud and corruption being uncovered everyday. This is why they're squealing. And again, you're all excusing it.

It would make much more sense if the libs would just say I am happy we are trying to get rid of wasteful spending just want to make sure that we are doing it correctly, but alas we have no rational libs instead we have them running around like a chicken with their head cut off screaming NAZI, the end of democracy etc

It's very very telling. Every single American should be irate at what's been going on for decades now. It's flat out theft at the very highest level.

Amazing where these derp staters get their info. Twitter is a cesspool of low iq people that can post with no facts.
The cbo report is linked in the twitter post. Hundreds of billions for expired and non oversight programs, many decades old. I can't imagine being on the side of excusing this bullshit.

Guess you missed posts like these:
I have no problem with auditing treasury. With combing through our financials. Hell, share it all. (minus sensitive national security stuff)

The issue is with Musk and his folks, the methods their using, the access they should (or should) not have, and then the claims they're making.

Elon doesn't exactly have a glowing history where trustworthiness is concerned.

So him spouting off about stuff on twitter is to be taken with a grain of salt and that's not the way we should do things.
I have no problem with auditing the treasury. I'd just prefer an autistic, eccentric billionaire with competing interests / reasons the size of which is only dwarfed by his ego not be the one leading the charge.

But that's because I'm not a dipshit.

Their objective isn't to get rid of wasteful spending, just programs that don't align with their interests.

This is called a coup.

I have no idea what it will take to stop it, but our national security is under and unprecedented threat right now.

Will Musk come for the nuclear codes next?
Have you looked at the reports and where the spending is going? Can you explain why $80m was given to the Clinton foundation?

Sorry bud, that's been debunked. That did not happen. It was started by a far right conspiracy blog.

And because I know you won't read either of those...

Clinton Foundation and USAID funding

The Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation also received no money from USAID from fiscal years 2008 to 2024 — which ran from October 2007 to September 2024 — according to a search of USASpending.gov, which goes back to fiscal year 2008. Fiscal year 2025 is not over as of this writing, but the foundation received no money from USAID through Feb. 6, 2025, either.

Another search of USASpending.gov found that the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation has received only one financial award from the U.S. government in total: $49,998 in 2010 for AmeriCorps National, a federal initiative that provides Americans opportunities to do community service.
