I am guessing I have been out 60 times in the last 40 days.
At least once a day and usually more ... grocery store, often a couple of times because no single store has been stocked with everything ... Doctors appointments ... pharmacies ... medical tests ... fast food joints for take-out, Lowes, Walmart, Midas, USPS etc. We have not been to a sit-down restaurant or to a casino or any kind of show or entertainment during this entire time. We do have an appointment for the air-bag recall at Chrysler this coming week.
My wife has medical appointments constantly, and we have been keeping each one. She has been stood up three times by doctors, although the lead time for CT scans, MRI's etc have declined dramatically. I have been really surprised how many physicians have simply stayed home. Most others have transitioned to a system of testing at the door for symptoms of Covid-19 and that seems to be working.
For a while there the traffic was light, and we could get right into stores. Now we are starting to see more congestion and now we have to stand in line to go into stores. In fact, yesterday it seemed that traffic was somewhat typical. My sense is that shoppers are getting tired of staying in, and they are gradually figuring out that they can safely make quick trips to the stores etc.
One day last week, we drove up the Las Vegas Strip for a mile or so on our way home from a medical appointment ... thinking it would be a kind of short-cut since supposedly there was no traffic there. It turned out to be light traffic but more than I had expected. The traffic lights still took forever and this allowed for 15-20 cars to get bunched up while waiting for light changes.
