Using mine for the first time today. Electric Bradley with the briquette system. Tell me about your smoker (not that one natural) and what you like to use it for.

Ahh damnit. One second after creating the thread I knew this would turn into a smokers=SOTE thread.

I was hoping this was a pile on filthy cigarette smokers thread.
I can't own a smoker. I'd put on 100 pounds.

Weber Smokey mountain. Pulled pork and ribs mostly. sometimes throw some wings on. Am planning on doing a brisket for NFL week 1.

Weber Smokey Mountain and Traegar. Love using both, Traegar is easier IMO.

Favorite thing to do is brisket and baby backs. I've been using Aaron Franklin's recipe for brisket. It's really good.

Big Green Egg (large and minimax)

Venison Pastrami
Pork butt
Pork roast
Pork tenderloin
Salmon
Brisket
Short ribs (beef)
Wings
Spatchcock chicken
Beer can chicken
Mac n cheese
Pizza
Did this meatloaf last week

Pit Barrel Cooker -

Ribs, Chicken, Pork Butt, Wings

Have also done turkey, tri tip and pizza.

Love it
I love mine too. One of my favorite gifts ever. I need to try brisket soon. Ribs, chicken and pork butt have been perfect.

The PBC is straight money. Great food every time and it is so so easy. Best smoked whole/half chicken i have ever had, brisket, pork butt, ribs all simply outstanding on the PBC.

Also have a Green Mountain pellet grill, makes outstanding pizza and the best chicken wings I've ever had. I used to do butts, brisket, ribs etc on this (and it was really good) but since getting the Pit Barrel Cooker I don't do these bigger items on the pellet grill anymore...no need as the PBC puts outs amazing BBQ.

I highly recommend you do a turkey on it as well. It was the best turkey I had ever had. I actually did pastrami on it as well (the smoking part) and it was awesome. I think the only thing I have done on it that I did not like was pizza. It was my first time and only time but it had too much smoke flavor. Need to give it another chance now that I am more experienced.

If you are on Facebook there is a good group to follow: Facebook Pit Barrel Group

I was planning on doing one for this thanksgiving, thanks for the group info.

The main reason I'd want to get a smoker is for turkey. I think smoked turkey is incomparable to any other means of cooking a bird.

I think you would love the Pit Barrel Cooker then.

1. Easy to use (light it, put food on, walk away for hours if you want, no need to baby sit it).
2. It's Inexpensive: $300 (which includes delivery)
3. Just a great smokey flavor.
4. Cook times are generally quicker than your traditional low and slow cookers (but with better results IMO).
5. There is something very primal about hooking and hanging meat over the heat source vs putting it on a rack/grate.

You want turkey...watch this.

I'm really interested in the mac n cheese. Sounds like the perfect thing to take up an unused rack
