Fields got his first major offer, other than Iowa, this week. Will be interesting to see if things heat up for him in the next couple months. Iowa got in first on him, but not sure how the relationship is growing. His sports schedule is very busy, so it will take awhile to see if he'll visit away from the southwest.

actually SMU is in the AAC conference with Houston, Navy and Temple 3 pretty good teams, so I think SMU is a very good offer.

Now it isn't. SMU has won 3 games in the past 2 seasons. They are a horrible program. It would be like getting an offer from Iowa State and saying that's a very good offer.

Well, not sure how good SMU has been, but it's good to offer a player before the other teams in his own backyard offer. I've been high on him for several months after watching his video, and preferred him over Lombardi. Just haven't heard much about him, since he has been busy with other sports. Curious how the Hawks got on him so early, since he is an out-of-stater and was not rated.

Same city as WR-Jerminic Smith...Different high schools, I believe, but I'd guess Bobby Kennedy has some connections to different coaches in that city

Did a little research...Kennedy pulled 3 highly ranked players out of Garland a few years ago, while at Texas...Might still be some coaches in that area he gets calls from/he can call to check on prospects...

A good network of connections for the Hawks!

Went to Garland Lakeview Centennial back in the early 90's and saw Iowa as well as every other school coming out of the coaches office. Iowa was showing interest in several prospects including an acquaintance Eric Diogu TE. He went with Tennessee and started as a true freshman on Payton Manning's team. You may recognize Diogu , his "little" brother went on to play BB at Arizona State and then the NBA. Garland at the time had 5 , 5A high schools and produced a lot of college prospects. Derrick Dockery (LakeView) and Quincy Morgan (South Garland) went on to the pros.
