Kent State is no slouch, they are the consensus pick to win the MAC Tournament this year. They were 4-0 vs the B1G last year beating Northwestern x2, Indiana x1, and Michigan State x1.
Going to try and get over to a game or two this weekend. Ready for some Hawkeye baseball.
Coach Duncan routinely puts quality teams on the field.
Most of his offense is back this season. Carew and Kirby were All-Americans last year (depending on the publication). Turner had 42 RBI last year.
They did take a big hit in their weekend rotation, losing their Friday and Saturday starters. Without looking it up, I'm guessing they will start Pittman or Schultz. Both can be had.
It should be an interesting opener.

Solid outing by Dreyer. He went 5 IP and 8ks. I assume he was on a pitch count as he threw 76 pitches. Hoffman and Leonard closed the door in the 8th/9th.
Offensively it wasn't amazing, but the first W is the hardest and nice to start that way considering the last few weeks last year.

Hawks up 3-0 T2 against St. Joes. They're picked to finish towards the bottom of the A10
M5. Norman leads off with a bloop double, sac bunted by Adreon and is hit in on a groundout by Fullard. 4-0. Williams then doubles down left field line. Advances to third on WP. Austin Martin singles him in. 5-0.
E5. Judkins gives up back to back doubles with one out and St. Joes scores 2. Judkins finishes up the inning. 5-2 Iowa
GAME: Hawks win 7-2!!! Good outing from Judkins, Wallace looks good out of the pen, and Probst makes his return from tommy john with a clean inning to finish the game. Great birthday from Norman who reached base in all five at bats. Hawks close to weekend tomorrow against Pitt at 10 AM Central.
Itd really be nice to go 3-0 especially with the next few weekends.
Fullard with a 3 run jack over the left field fence to give the Hawks a 4-1 lead here in the top of the 3rd.
Heller just got tossed from the game for arguing in between innings. Been multiple blown calls by this umpiring crew.
