So if ISU wins the Big 12 title...

If ISU wins the Big 12, I will win $4k and have a great night.
You should spend that on getting rid of Kirk Ferentz to bring in Bielema, if you truly cared about the football program (or have you changed your tune in the last couple of years?). Every little bit counts right?

Yeah you enjoy the evening sir.

Answer the question,...who won last years NIT?

I know who won last years NCAA tournament. Villanova.

Not sure who won the nit last year. I honestly have no clue who won the big 12 tourney last year either, because I don't care. It was probably Kansas, because, well.......

Look, congrats on a nice run here and a good season. A Season in which Iowa beat you, btw. I have no clue how your team looks for next year, but I feel pretty good about Iowa moving forward, so there is a good chance we will beat you again next year.

Young vs Cook is going to be a great 3 year battle! Those two freshman came on strong late and those will be some good battles moving forward

And your team was never in contention for anything.

How does it feel to be an also-ran at best?
That's not correct...Iowa was in contention for NCAA tourney, with one more win, they were in.

Lol right cause Iowa has never won conference tournaments. We can't all be blue blood basketball programs like Iowa State with all those final four appearances.

Enjoy it while it lasts this season, next year is gonna be great watching the meltdown
Yep, iswho hoops is going to be bad next season :)

I would want to forget the Nebraska Omaha game too. You know the team ISU beat by 47. Seriously though, ISU has improved immensely since December. I'm not saying ISU would win if they played again but it would be a different type of game. ISU didn't have Young, and he is a difference maker for us, and Iowa didn't have Cook. I just think ISU is the better team at this point in the season, you know kind like Iowa is better than the Nebraska Omaha team that beat Iowa back in December.

And yet, ISU is still #2 in the state of Iowa, and irrelevant on the national stage.

ISU fans better hope the Big 12 doesn't disband.....because there isn't a single Power 5 conference that will take them. Helloooooooo mid-major. That may actually be good for them, as they might be able to win some football games.

Not a great argument there. The Big 10 was all over the place in the regular season. The top Big 10 teams were no strangers to getting beat the 2nd tier of the Big 10. Heck #8 seed Michigan is in the conference title game, which is a prime example.

In both conferences, outside if Rutgers, every team was competitive.

How bad is the b12 when their regular season and conf champs are beaten by mid to lower level B1G teams

Good friggin' gawd. Here we go again.

Psssst: MuskyCy--Steve Alford won 2 B1G tournament championships at Iowa. No one cares about that. No one ever talks about "Oh, remember the year so-and-so won the ACC (or fill in the blank) tournament?" Doesn't happen.

As I've said in other threads, Iowa State has a respectable program and has been in the Top 25 consistently this decade. Congrats. And while I think many Iowa State fans are delusional, have serious self-esteem issues, go to extraordinary lengths on a HAWKEYE message board to seek validation for their team being so Awesome Sauce! and the Hawkeyes being so Sucky! , and in general have an insatiable desire to demonstrate the cognitive skills of a fruit fly, I do respect the Cyclone basketball program. I just to have to scratch my head at the fan base (sans Lone Clone and a couple others) who come here trying to convince Iowa fans of a comical, asinine, and dubious belief in the blue blood existence of Iowa State basketball. At best, we can file that under the category of "Alternative Facts."

Congratulations to the Iowa State men's basketball team, though. They know how to get on a roll in their conference tourney. I don't know if I speak for all the Hawkeye fans on here, but I, for one, am absolutely impressed at how well Iowa State took out the likes of powerhouses Oklahoma St. and TCU on their way to the tourney title. Almost as impressive as their run to the Sweet 16 last year with wins over Iona and Little Rock. Truly impressive.

Since Iowa State became a "blue blood" program under The Mayor, they have won exactly the same number of conference titles in the Big XII as Lickliter did in the B1G, and have had their deepest run in the tournament be the Sweet 16--the same feat Dr. Tom accomplished his lame duck year. But yes, we know, Iowa has only gotten to the field of 32 in recent memory, a whopping 1 round less than the mighty Cyclones have, who again had to take out powerhouses Iona and Little Rock to get there last year. So, I mean, clearly, I can understand why you all feel so vastly superior to the Iowa basketball program. Lol.

Oh, and Psssst--MuskyCy, there are plenty of therapy programs in the state to assist you with your self esteem issues. Because it seems like yours rests largely on a need to live vicariously through a phantom belief in the blue blood stature of Iowa State basketball. Therapy just seems like a healthier, more effective option for you than chasing delusions of grandeur on a Hawkeye message board.

In other words, as we used to say back in the day, "Dude, get a life."

Yes, there was a lot of parity in the B1G this year, and it might be fair to say the gauntlet of the conference schedule is why there are no Top 10 teams. In other words, everyone beat up on each other. Personally, I'm not one to get into the whole whose-conference-is-better-than-the-others pissing match. Frankly, it's an apples and oranges comparison half the time. The B1G has 14 teams to the Big XII's 10, so that right there makes it difficult to have an accurate comparison.

I don't think the Big XII is a bad or mediocre conference, but I don't think they're as strong as other P5s. Regardless, the whole point of saying so is for Iowa fans to throw dirt on what ISU accomplished this weekend. Iowa State won 3 games in a row--beating Okie St., TCU, and West Virginia. Take that for what it's worth. Iowa at one point won 4 games in a row--Indiana, @Maryland, @Wisconsin, and Penn State, before another epic conference tournament egg laying. Take that for whatever it's worth.

To me, outside of Lone Clone and a couple others, Iowa State fans are incredibly annoying, lazy, and cowardly. The week of the Iowa State/Iowa game, they were inundating this board with mad sh!t-talk about how great Iowa State is and how bad Iowa is. Then their team gets their asses handed to them and all of them (sans Lone Clone) are too pussy to show up and eat crow. But once Iowa State gets a big win, or Iowa has a bad loss, they're on here in droves. I don't have any respect for that. For one, as I said, you're a coward and a pussy if that's what you do. And two, you're clearly trying to distract yourself from the meaningless existence you have by touting your supremacy because of 20-year-old kids' accomplishments.

In short, the mods need to start banning more of these mental midget cowardly losers so we don't have to wade through post after post of their special brand of idiocy.
