Sure, playing nice is not great. Looking to engage in a war to stay out of jail is bad.
Reports indicate Bibi knew about the attack beforehand and allowed it to happen so that he could start a conflict and stay in power.
Then he started carpet bombing because he knew he could.
No one is saying that Hamas is good. Just that what Israel is doing is criminal. They're trading palestinian bodies for power.
Bibi has numerous court cases against him that are stalled as he clings to power. He is staying in office to avoid the justice system. Just like our Felon President here.

My point is it’s tragic all the way around, but my personal opinion is liberals are too critical of Israel when considering what Israel has been up against. You seem to have a more balanced approach, so I find no fault to what you’re saying. I just take a lot of media reports with a grain of salt.
