Music City Bowl
Pinstripe Bowl
Foster Farms Bowl

It sounds like if Indiana wins, they cannot go to the Foster Farms or Pinstripe??

Who would our opponents be? A quick look at each bowl looks like this.

Music City Bowl - Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi State, South Carolina?
Pinstripe Bowl - Wake Forest, Boston College, Virginia, maybe Duke? Even Louisville could be possible.
Foster Farms Bowl - Stanford, Oregon, Arizona, Arizona State, UCLA, Colorado/Utah can still go 6-6

Because I had such a good time last year, I hope you guys get the music city bowl. The bars were all open by 8 to 9 AM, and everywhere had live music. The bowl experience was set up all along Broadway. And they did a huge live concert after the game. One of the better game day experiences I've ever had until Nebraska got their butts whipped.

Iowa is hoping Nashville but the Pinstripe bowl has a clause stating a different team from the bt needs to go that hasn't been there before.

I think the bowl games that serve recruiting better are Nashville and New York City. I am not a fan of West Coast games, including the Rose Bowl. I know older IOwa fans pee themselves over the Rose Bowl, but in 2015-2016, the B1G Championship was exponentially more important that the crappy Rose Bowl.

I really don't think Iowa has a shot at the Music City Bowl at this point. Before the Purdue loss, I could picture Iowa getting selected ahead of Northwestern or Michigan, but not at this point (unless NW loses to Illinois). Add in the possibility of an Indiana win vs. Purdue. Indiana has played in both the Foster Farms and Pinstripe Bowls during the current contract, which essentially bumps them up to the Music City.

The only other "wild card" is if Minnesota pulls off a ridiculous upset against Wisconsin, giving the B1G 9 bowl-eligible teams and possibly putting the Quick Lane Bowl in play. However, I still think Iowa falls to the Pinstripe regardless.

NY6 - Ohio St
NY6 - Wisc
Citrus (outside shot at Orange) - Penn St
Outback - Michigan St
Holiday - Northwestern
Music City - Michigan or Indiana
Pinstripe - Iowa or Michigan
Foster Farms - Purdue or Iowa or Minnesota
Quick Lane - Indiana or Purdue (winner falls here if MN wins)

This could be the worst projection of big 10 bowl games i’ve seen. By worst i mean chance of happening.

Building on my post from above, every breakfast place on Trip Advisor-Nashville will be packed. My buddy and I found this place in a hotel called Marsh House. I stumbled upon the Joyce's Farms Korean Fried Chicken and brown butter waffles with chillin cane syrup glaze. Holy Moly...it will change your life friends.

No one is taking NW above other teams unless they're forced to.

If NW wins:

These are teams who would be forced to being picked over:

Iowa
PU/IU
Minny (if qualified)

Teams where bowls would have a choice:
MSU
Michigan
PSU
OSU
Wisconsin

An Illinois win today would bump only Iowa into the bowl’s choice category.

So if the forum is any measure of overall interest in a bowl Nashville would be hoppin' with Hawks. The other locations not so much.

Mrs OiT has it planned out to go to nashville and she never.goes to games with me, maybe she has a boyfriend there

PSU has very good chance at NY6 if they win today. They’re currently in top 10. Just need to finish in Top 11. Probably won’t be Int Orange Bowl though; the OB gets the top ranked non-champ from B1G, SEC, ND (that probably won’t be PSU). If B1G gets Orange, they don’t get Citrus. But if we get three in NY6 other than Orange we still get Citrus (that happened in 2014)

Santa Clara for me....against Stanford...? Sure I wouldn’t mind another shot at those pricks....or ASU so we could see ‘you know who’.....;)

I like this scenario as far as getting another crack at Stanford, and I think we could handle ASU. In all honesty though, if Nashville isn't in the cards, then I think the Pinstripe might give us the most favorable matchup, in colder, more BIG10 like conditions... I think it's time ro snap this bowl game losing streak no matter what or where it takes them to do it.

Purdue winning today helped Iowa's chances of getting to Nashville quite a bit. Plus you have to look at the fact that Iowa fans would come to Tennessee in droves for that bowl game.

I personally hope that however things shake out, the B1G's #4 team (MIchigan St) ends up in the Outback Bowl. I think the B1G is still down a bit, and last year's bowl pairings (putting Iowa in Outback at #5, and so forth) turned into a disastrous bowl season. The B1G bowl lineup as it is already inherently results in a majority of B1G teams being underdogs; shifting all B1G teams up a slot can set up some real mismatches.

I'm hoping for the Pinstripe Bowl for the Hawks, even though it's not a popular destination for all our snowbird fans. That's a game where we would have a beatable opponent, and could really have an advantage if the weather is cold. Chances are we're going to end up there sometime during the 8-year contract; might as well be this year.
